Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based RPG where players can play with up to four characters in a party. Composing the correct team is the key to completing all content in this game as players can’t play by simply using damage dealers or going into fights with a line-up of four supports.
Upon release, Honkai: Star Rail was only available on PC, Android, and iOS, but starting from version 1.4, the game becomes available on PS5. Honkai: Star Rail will have a cross-progression with PS5, so players can continue their existing account on their PlayStation, or they can start new and use other devices to play in the future. Here’s how players can link Honkai: Star Rail HoYoverse accounts to PS5, how to unlink, and other things they need to know about the process.

How To Link Honkai: Star Rail Account To PS5
After opening Honkai: Star Rail on PS5, players will either enter the game immediately or get the Prepare to Begin Your Adventure box. If the game starts immediately, this means a HoYoverse account is already linked to the PSN, so players must unlink the account first (this will be explained later).
If there’s no account linked to the PS5 yet, then people can simply choose Already have an account to continue their journey or Create a HoYoverse account to start fresh.
If players choose to link an existing account, they can do so by either using an email or scanning the given QR code. For the former, players must first bind their HoYoverse account to an email; accounts that are only linked to Google or other platforms are ineligible for this process.
Afterward, a prompt that contains the information of the linked account will appear. Unfortunately, Trailblazers can’t pick the server they want to play in, and the game will follow the PSN account’s location.
How To Unlink Honkai: Star Rail Account From PS5
To unlink a HoYoverse Honkai: Star Rail account from PS5, Trailblazers must first check which account is currently connected to the PSN by choosing Settings > Account Settings > User Center.
Once players determine the account, head to https://account.hoyoverse.com/ and log in with the correct information, or navigate through HoYoLAB by choosing Information Management > Account Settings.
Once logged in, choose Account Security Settings, then scroll down to the PSN section. Press Unlink, then read the warning before clicking Confirm. The warning states that A HoYoverse Account can only be unlinked from a PSN account once, so players must be careful if they don’t wish to be locked out from their PSN.
Once the unlinking process is complete, restart the game and link a different Honkai: Star Rail account to the PS5.
