Best Phainon Relics In HSR - Honkai: Star Rail
Phainon regenerates his Ultimate by being the target of enemies' or allies' abilities. For that, build Phainon with the Wavestrider Captain set, since its effect is triggered when Phainon is targeted by allies’ abilities. It’s one of the best Relics for Phainon because it grants him 16% Crit DMG and 48% ATK. You can also build Phainon with the Scholar Lost in Erudition set to maximize his Skill DMG. The Scholar Lost in Erudition set only performs slightly less than the Wavestrider Captain set, which makes it a solid option to build Phainon in HSR.
As a main DPS, there are a lot of Planar Ornaments that work with Phainon in Honkai: Star Rail. The best Planar Ornament set is the Arcadia of Woven Dreams, as it provides a lot of extra DMG for Phainon when he doesn’t have allies by his side, which is what will happen when he casts his Ultimate. You can also build Phainon with Rutilant Arena or Bone Collection's Serene Demesne. Rutilant Arena increases his Skill DMG and Crit Rate, while Bone Collection's Serene Demesne notably increases Phainon’s Crit DMG if his HP is above 5000, which is a number he reaches naturally when he enters his Ultimate form.
Like any other DPS in Honkai: Star Rail, aim to maximize Phainon’s Crit Rate to ensure he can trigger a Crit hit on each one of his attacks. After getting a comfortable Crit Rate number, build Phainon with as much Crit DMG, Physical DMG, and ATK% as possible to amplify his DPS. SPD is also important since Phainon needs to hit as much as possible to regenerate his Ultimate, but if you get over 136 SPD through other means like Relic sub-stats, using an ATK boots is a viable option.
Best Phainon Light Cones In HSR - Honkai: Star Rail
Thus Burns the Dawn is the best Light Cone for Phainon’s build in HSR. That’s not surprising since it’s his Signature Light Cone. Thus Burns the Dawn increases Phainon’s Base SPD and helps Phainon ignore a portion of the enemies’ DEF when he attacks them. Finally, Phainon can also activate its passive, which has a niche requirement. It will give him an insane amount of extra DMG when he casts his Ultimate.
Best Archer Light Cones In Honkai Star Rail
Thanks to his traditional Crit and ATK scaling, it's not hard to find a good Light Cone for Archer in Honkai: Star Rail.
You can also build Phainon with F2P Light Cones, such as On the Fall of an Aeon or Under the Blue Sky. These Light Cones are easier to get and offer a decent number of buffs that can keep Phainon’s DPS acceptable during combat. With more investments, use A Trail of Bygone Blood, a battle-pass weapon that grants Crit Rate and Skill DMG Bonus.
Phainon can also use some 5-star Light Cones as stat sticks, such as Brighter Than the Sun, The Unreachable Side, I Shall Be My Own Sword, and Something Irreplaceable.
