Honkai: Star Rail's version 2.2 update brings one of the most fan-favorite characters of the Penacony world, namely Robin, as a playable character. She joins the roster as a Harmony character, reflecting this world's main path. Other than being a significant character in the storyline of Trailblazer's journey, Robin, as a support unit, also has great potential to be a useful ally in many versatile team compositions, thanks to her ATK and DMG and Crit DMG increase buffs specifically. Additionally, she can also work as a sub-DPS to some extent, thanks to her ability to deal Physical attack after each ally's attack during the duration of her Ultimate.
Honkai: Star Rail – All 5-Star Characters, Ranked
5-Star Characters in Honkai: Star Rail are in high demand due to their unique abilities, but some are stronger and more versatile than others.
That being said, some players may think that Robin might be difficult to min-max, especially if they want to focus on her damage-dealing capabilities. However, this is fortunately not true. In fact, players will only need to focus on the ATK stat in particular. However, there are also some other tiny details to focus on or consider when building her effectively.

Best Robin Relics In Honkai: Star Rail
Considering that Robin's Ultimate relies primarily on a single scaling stat, namely the ATK stat, it is recommended that players choose Relic Set and Planar Ornament options that benefit this. Combining 2-piece sets of either Musketeer of Wild Wheat or Prisoner in Deep Confinement with another 2-piece set of Champion of Streetwise Boxing to also enhance her sub-DPS potential can be considered the best option for Robin. On the other hand, a 4-piece set of Champion of Streetwise Boxing can actually surpass the ATK buff of combining it with one of the two sets mentioned above. However, this will only be valuable in combat scenarios that require a significant number of turns for it to stack to make farming for this particular set worthwhile. Therefore, for players who want to spend less time or resources to optimize Robin's relic farming, combining the two sets or even combining Musketeer of Wild Wheat with Prisoner in Deep Confinement will be more effective.
For Planar Ornaments, there are also multiple options to consider. Surprisingly, while Space Sealing Station will increase Robin's own damage and further boost allies' ATK, Fleet of the Ageless actually performs better in terms of buffing allies, as it provides a direct percentage increase to their ATK. Additionally, this Planar Ornament also provides HP for Robin, enhancing her survivability. Players interested in a 2-turn Ultimate (although this is not entirely necessary) might also want to consider Sprightly Vonwacq, especially if they aim to synchronize allies' actions on the first turn.
For the main stats, players have quite some flexibility if they are interested in optimizing certain aspects of her build; however, generally equipping her with ATK% pieces, except for the Energy Regeneration Link Rope, will work quite well. The Energy Regen link is highly required for her Ultimate to be activated every 3 turns, and players should not prioritize ATK over this in this instance. Nevertheless, she can make use of Speed boots instead of ATK boots if players are struggling to reach 120 speed to activate Fleet of the Ageless or Space Sealing Station's conditional effects, or to reach 121 or 136 thresholds. However, considering that during Robin's ultimate her speed is set to 90, Speed stat is not generally so useful as a main stat. It might be better for players to aim for it with sub-stats, especially since they will only need about 15 Speed to meet the 120 requirement. Another worthwhile mention is to consider Physical DMG Planar Sphere, as this can increase her sub-DPS potential, especially if players are able to achieve high ATK stats through sub-stats or by other means.
That being the case, players should also focus on ATK stat for the most part for her sub-stats. However, some speed to reach the 120 or 121 threshold can be quite useful. Other than that, she can make use of defensive stats such as HP or DEF, or even Effect RES for the other options. While she does have potential as a sub-DPS, since these values are set to 100% Crit Rate and 150% Crit DMG, she will not need to make use of additional investment in this area. All these considerations make Robin quite easy to build, as players don't need to aim for min-maxing; however, still aiming for about 3500 ATK stat (unless using a Physical DMG Ornament) is a good threshold to aim for.
Best Robin Light Cones In Honkai: Star Rail
Considering that Robin will benefit most from her Ultimate, which depends on ATK scaling, as well as having enough Energy Regeneration, light cones that provide these benefits, with potentially some added ones, will see the most value.
- Flowing Nightglow: Being Robin's signature light cone, it works as the best option for her, thanks to increasing her ATK value significantly, aiding in Energy Regeneration, and providing a party-wide DMG increase.
- But the Battle Isn't Over: Bronya's signature light cone can also complement Robin's kit effectively, serving as a solid F2P-friendly option. Its benefits include aiding in Energy Regeneration and providing Skill point regeneration, which can be advantageous. However, players need to strategize the action order of characters carefully after Robin uses her skill, as she cannot utilize the light cone's benefits for 3 turns typically. While the added DMG buff isn't the most significant benefit, it still contributes to Robin's overall effectiveness.
- Past Self in Mirror: While Ruan Mei's light cone generally focuses on Break Effect, which may not directly benefit Robin, it can still serve as a useful DMG buff for all allies and provide Energy generation, particularly in battles with multiple waves. However, the Skill Point regeneration aspect of this light cone may not be fully utilized by Robin unless she incorporates some Break effect into her build, which may not align with her optimal setup.
- For Tomorrow's Journey: This new light cone, offered as a limited-time event reward, presents another excellent option for Robin. It's entirely F2P-friendly and can be fully max superimposed. With a substantial boost to ATK and her overall damage, it stands out as the best 4-star option available for Robin. However, players who opt for this light cone may encounter some challenges with energy regeneration.
- Memories of the Past: For players struggling with energy regeneration, Memories of the Past can serve as a good secondary priority 4-star light cone. However, it's important to note that utilizing her skill instead of basic attacks will provide more benefits to her energy regeneration regardless.
- Meshing Cogs: Similarly to Memories of the Past, Meshing Cogs can also address energy regeneration needs for players. This is particularly advantageous because she can gain energy from being attacked, eliminating the necessity to solely rely on her own attacks for energy generation.
Robin Trace Priority In Honkai: Star Rail
Upgrading all of Robin's traces except for her Basic ATK is generally beneficial, as each trace enhances the buffs she provides. However, prioritizing her Ultimate trace is most advantageous since it offers the most buffs and relies on her build. Following this, her skill trace, which emphasizes improving her DMG buff to allies, takes second priority, while her Talent trace, which provides a set amount of Crit Buff, comes third. As such, Robin's trace priority is as follows:
- Ultimate
- Skill
- Talent
- Basic attack
