Jing Yuan may be an Erudition character in Honkai: Star Rail, but he still performs excellently even in single-target cases thanks to his Lightning Lord who deals higher damage to one target. The General is also great at breaking enemies’ Toughness due to the multi-hit his Lightning Lord offers.
Due to the fact that Jing Yuan is an overall good DPS, players should know which characters can support the General in combat. Among the available supports, players can use units like Tingyun, Asta, and Bronya to help him stack his Lightning Lord. Still, since using three supports may not be optimal, players can instead refer to the following examples of Jing Yuan team comp in Honkai: Star Rail.
The Lore Behind Honkai: Star Rail's Paths Explained
Regardless of whether it is playable, each Honkai: Star Rail Path has an interesting story behind it, as all of them are presided by powerful Aeons.
Updated on December 27, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Jing Yuan has long been forgotten due to his inability to swiftly clear out end-game content. This is because his damage comes mostly from his Lightning Lord summon, which has a fixed SPD and limited turns per cycle. Thankfully, Jing Yuan now has more supports that can help advance and SPD up his summon, making it necessary to update this article about the best Jing Yuan team in Honkai: Star Rail.
1 Jing Yuan + Sunday + Robin + Huohuo
Sunday is undoubtedly one of the best supports for characters with summons such as Jing Yuan. He not only advances the target's turn but also their summons, allowing Jing Yuan's Lightning Lord (LL) to move immediately. This removes Jing Yuan's weakness where players must wait for his LL to take action and unleash massive damage.
As Jing Yuan's LL hits are considered a follow-up attack, the next best support is none other than Sunday's sister, Robin. Robin also helps with Jing Yuan's need to move often as she grants an immediate turn to the entire team when she uses her Ultimate.
Honkai: Star Rail - Sunday Build Guide
Sunday is built relatively similarly to characters like Sparkle or Bronya in Honkai: Star Rail.
For the sustain unit, players can either go for Huohuo or Aventurine. Huohuo is highly recommended if the boss isn't too offensive as she may struggle with healing otherwise. With Huohuo, she can restore the team's Energy, allowing Robin to advance the team's action more often and for Sunday to restore more of Jing Yuan's Energy.
All in all, this team is highly supportive of maximizing Jing Yuan's damage, his Lightning Lord, and also helping with his Energy all at the same time.
2 Jing Yuan + Robin + Tingyun + Aventurine
Although Sunday is an amazing support for summoners, Robin is the more universal support between the two. So it's understandable if more players own Robin than Sunday. If Robin is not available, players can swap her with a Nihility character like Jiaoqiu or Pela instead.
Honkai: Star Rail – Aventurine Ascension and Trace Materials
Unlike his dangerous persona, Aventurine is meant to be a shielder in Honkai: Star Rail combat; here's what players need for his Ascension materials.
Meanwhile, to replace Sunday, players can use Tingyun, who has a similar kit of granting ATK, DMG Bonus, and Energy for one allied unit. Finally, for the sustain character, use either Aventurine or Huohuo. Aventurine is preferable if the boss is offensive and requires players to constantly heal or shield.
3 Jing Yuan + Tingyun + Pela + Huohuo
As a 4-star unit in Honkai: Star Rail, Tingyun is an excellent buffer that is comparable to 5-star units. Having Tingyun and Huohuo on the same team ensures Jing Yuan can use his Ultimate during each cycle since they both constantly regenerate his energy. Moreover, both Support units will regularly buff Jing Yuan’s ATK% and DMG. This will create a situation where the General’s Lightning Lord (LL) will always hit opponents with eight to ten hits while being massively enhanced by their buffs.
Since Jing Yuan is a big AoE hitter, Pela plays a major role in the team since she provides an AoE DEF reduction debuff that makes the team effective offensively. All three Supporting units don’t need a lot of Skill Points to operate, which is perfect for Jing Yuan to keep being able to use his Skills at every turn.
4 Jing Yuan + Bronya + Sparkle + Huohuo
The idea behind adding two Harmony units like Bronya and Sparkle is to ensure Jing Yuan can always maximize his Lightning Lord’s actions by constantly giving him his turn back. When using their Skills, Bronya will instantly give the General his turn back, while Sparkle will advance his action by 50%, which is sufficient for him to attack once more before his LL. Additionally, both Harmony units will insanely buff Jing Yuan’s ATK%, DMG, and most importantly, CRIT DMG. As for Huohuo, she operates as a Support for the entire team by healing them, increasing their ATK%, and slightly helping with their energy management.
7 Best 3-Star Light Cones In Honkai: Star Rail
3-star Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail can easily be replaced by 4-star items, but beginner players would want to focus on these as they start.
Since all Supporting characters use Skill Points frequently, Sparke plays an essential role by increasing Skill Points capacity and providing the team with constant Skill Points replenishment through her Ultimate. More importantly, Jing Yuan will progressively get stronger as the team consumes more Skill Points. However, since the team demands proper Skill Points management and a lot of Energy Regeneration stats, if they end up being too hard for the players' taste, players can either replace Bronya with Tingyun or Huohuo with Luocha.
5 Jing Yuan + Asta + Welt + Luocha
Jing Yuan’s Lightning Lord has a base SPD of 60, but each additional stack increases the SPD by 10, which means one Skill cast from the General will bump the follow-up attack’s SPD by 20. This basically means players would be stuck with five Lightning Lord stacks most of the time. However, with a proper SPD boost like the one given by Asta’s Ultimate, Jing Yuan has a chance to dish out two Skills before his Lightning Lord takes a turn, which allows players to have a higher LL stack and activate the General’s second Ascension (A2) Trace, which increases Lightning Lord’s Crit DMG by 25% when it has six or more stacks.
Players can better increase Jing Yuan’s performance by using Tingyun, but this team mostly focuses on impairing the enemies. Asta will keep the team boosted with SPD while Welt can slow the opponents. Since this team is heavy on using Skill Points, Luocha is essential for the team survivability without using Skills. His AoE Ultimate also provides more Imprisonment if he breaks opponents’ Toughness.
6 Jing Yuan + Topaz & Numby + March 7th + Clara
In the Simulated Universe, players must choose a Path to walk on. Among the available Paths is the one of Aha, the Aeon of Elation. Elation Blessing in Honkai: Star Rail focuses on follow-up attacks, and this team is all about it. With Jing Yuan's Lightning Lord, Clara’s Svarog counter, March 7th’s counter, and Topaz's follow-up buffs and attacks, this team is filled with follow-up attackers.
Honkai Star Rail Redeem Codes (December 2025)
Stellar Jades is a crucial currency in Honkai: Star Rail as players need them to get new characters in the game.
However, despite Clara's tanking and March 7th shielding, you may end up lacking in terms of protection if you didn’t get the defensive Elation Blessings that heal and/or boost DEF upon triggering follow-up attacks. In this case, it’s best to swap March 7th out with a healer if it’s too hard to survive. Meanwhile, if you’re not struggling with survivability, then March can also be replaced with supports that enhance offense, like Pela or Tingyun.
