A Honkai: Star Rail leak showcased the gameplay for the upcoming Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works crossover event. Officially launching in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4, players will be able to recruit Saber and Archer into their teams, and potentially participate in Fate-themed side quests in-between exploring Amphoreus.
HoYoverse is no stranger to cool crossovers, as it previously made Aloy playable in Genshin Impact as part of its Horizon collaboration, and also released Neon Genesis Evangelion's Asuka in Honkai Impact 3rd. The upcoming Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night event is considered HoYoverse's most ambitious crossover yet, possibly because of the amount of things that players can do, and the fact that they can get two 5-star characters. In fact, Honkai: Star Rail fans will receive Archer for free once Version 3.4 rolls out.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases New Enemy for Fate/Stay Night Collab
Recent leaks from Honkai: Star Rail are hinting at a brand-new enemy coming as part of the event for the Fate/Stay Night collab.
With Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 expected to launch in early July, a demo clip from leaker Stelle the Galactic Baseballer revealed the alleged gameplay for the upcoming Fate/Stay Night event, which is inspired by the Holy Grail War. The first few minutes of the video showed Honkai: Star Rail's existing characters categorized into different Fate classes, such as Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker, each with their own special abilities. It also has power-ups and items similar to the Blessings and Curios that players can obtain in the Simulated Universe and Divergent Universe. The gameplay has players participating in the Holy Grail War against seven other competitors, but it's unclear if this will be a PvP event.
Honkai: Star Rail Reportedly Bringing Fate's Holy Grail War to Life
In the comments, a number of Honkai: Star Rail fans described the gameplay as the Divergent Universe in tournament format, while others appreciated the fact that the characters were given their own Servant roles. Meanwhile, some speculated that the Holy Grail War event could be accessed permanently via the Simulated Universe, similar to the Swarm Disaster and Herta's Unknowable Domain. If that's the case, this could be Honkai: Star Rail's way of maximizing the Fate collaboration, especially after the negative reaction to Genshin Impact's Horizon crossover.
There's a lot of anticipation for Honkai: Star Rail's Fate/Stay Night crossover, especially since this is its first big in-game collaboration. If it succeeds, perhaps it could open the doors for more Honkai: Star Rail crossovers with other franchises in the future to make the game extra exciting beyond its rich main story.
