A Honkai: Star Rail leak claims that the next character to get a buff will be Firefly. First released in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.3, Firefly is the fourth playable Stellaron Hunter introduced in the game, and is recognized for her alternate mecha form.
Since releasing the Amphoreus update at the start of 2025, Honkai: Star Rail has been slowly buffing existing characters, such as Blade and Kafka, in order to maintain their viability in future updates. This also allows the game to help make older characters relevant in its ever-changing meta. Honkai: Star Rail gives players the choice to apply the buffs to the characters as well, especially since they might prefer their previous iteration over the new version.
Honkai: Star Rail Leaks Exciting Details About New Firefly Skin and Unexpected Buffs
A new Honkai: Star Rail leak reveals intriguing details about Firefly’s upcoming skin and a potential set of character buffs.
It's no secret that Honkai: Star Rail will be buffing more characters in the future, and a report from leaker Luna claims that Firefly might be next in line. According to Luna, the adjustment might roll out during the first half of 2026, which will be a welcome addition to the next major story update if the leak is reliable. Additionally, there's still no information about the specifics of Firefly's rumored buffs, so fans should take this with a grain of salt for now.
Honkai: Star Rail Buffing Firefly Could Be a Step in the Right Direction
In the comment section, a number of Honkai: Star Rail fans said that it would be a great move to buff Firefly's abilities, saying that it sometimes takes a while for the character to fill up her Ultimate meter and enter Complete Combustion State. Some hope that Honkai: Star Rail could address this issue with the rumored buffs. Meanwhile, many fans are also hoping to see buffs for other older characters like Imbibitor Lunae, Topaz, and Seele in the near future.
Honkai: Star Rail's Firefly Abilities
- Basic ATK: Order: Flare Propulsion
- Empowered Basic ATK: Fyrefly Type-IV: Pyrogenic Decimation
- Skill: Order: Aerial Bombardment
- Empowered Skill: Fyrefly Type-IV: Deathstar Overload
- Ultimate: Fyrefly Type-IV: Complete Combustion
For most of Honkai: Star Rail's Penacony chapter last year, Firefly was a mainstay in many team compositions because she can deal significant Break DMG. Honkai: Star Rail had a Super Break meta for a while, and Firefly having the ability to give enemies fire weaknesses and break their shields was highly valuable during match-ups. Granted, the character can still be used to fight some of Amphoreus' enemies and accomplish Honkai: Star Rail's various challenge stages, as long as she is teamed up with support characters that increase her damage and resistance penetration.
Right now, Honkai: Star Rail is in the middle of its Fate/Stay Night crossover during Version 3.4, featuring Saber and Archer as playable characters. The crossover event is said to last until the first half of Version 3.6, so many players will have the chance to go through its missions while catching up to the Amphoreus storyline.
