As far as achievements in Honkai: Star Rail go, this one involving Belobog's Supreme Guardian and her next-in-line is pretty difficult to unlock. It involves fighting Cocolia again, the adoptive mother of Bronya and the one who became a shadow of herself due to dealing with the constant voices of Jarilo-VI's Stellaron whispering to her about the end of the world.
So, to help players unlock this achievement and possibly get the last bit of Stellar Jade they'll need for the Warp Roll that leads them to the 5-star character of their dreams, let's go over every step of unlocking Save the Princess in Honkai: Star Rail.
How To Save The Princess
Now, to start, let's go over exactly what the description of this achievement says: 'Defeat Cocolia without defeating Bronya'. As far as descriptions go this is pretty vague compared to some of the other 'Eager for Battle' achievements.
Essentially, what it means is this; During the Cocolia (Complete) fight in the Simulated Universe, Cocolia will summon Bronya to assist her from Phase 2 onward. Players will need to defeat Cocolia here without defeating Bronya, which is the opposite of how the fight is designed to go since Bronya will constantly be using her Combat Redeployment Skill to give Cocolia extra turns and extra damage.
Where To Find Cocolia (Complete)
Sadly, unlike other 'Eager for Battle' achievements that are based around specific boss battles like Code of Chivalry or Right-Hand Man's Many Right-Handed Right Hands, there's only one version of Cocolia where this achievement is able to be unlocked and that's the version of her that's the 13th of 13 encounters in the Simulated Universe, World 6. The variant of Cocolia that shows up in the Main Story Quest, near the end of the Forgotten Hall, and even the one that's part of the Echo of War (and the target of another achievement) all have different mechanics that don't involve summoning Bronya at any point. Because these three other versions of Cocolia don't summon Bronya, they won't work for unlocking this achievement.
So, to even attempt this achievement, players will need to get through the 12 stages preceding Cocolia's in the Simulated Universe and get their build of Blessings, Curios, and overpowered characters all set up for the final confrontation. Here are just a few of the most recommended characters to bring along for this fight:

When it comes to actually battling Cocolia, the fight is actually pretty difficult. Her first Phase is nothing much but as soon as Bronya comes into the picture it gets a lot more difficult since Bronya almost exclusively uses her Combat Redeployment Skill to give Cocolia extra turns to freeze and chip away at the entire party.
Normally, the tactic would be to take out Bronya ASAP so that the flow of combat is back to normal, but this achievement makes that tactic impossible. Instead, here are some tips to get through the fight with Bronya still alive the whole time:
- Players who have Difficulty II or even Difficulty III of World 6 unlocked, switch it down to Difficulty I for this achievement. It may seem like overkill but keeping Bronya alive actually makes the fight difficult enough to still be risky even for overleveled teams.
- Single-target DPS is the name of the game here, or at best, low-damage multi-target damage. If players use too many characters that specialize in AoE damage like Jing Yuan or Himeko then Bronya will end up getting Weakness Broken just as much as Cocolia and it'll be tough to keep her alive for both Phase 2 and Phase 3.
- Focus on getting Cocolia's Toughness as low as possible but not popping it, players should be able to use the Ice Edges as temporary targets to prevent popping her Toughness too early.
- As soon as Cocolia uses Wrath of the Winterland Saints to start charging up her Punishment of Endless Winter attack, this is the time to inflict Weakness Break on her. If Bronya uses Combat Redeployment so Cocolia goes again right after she begins charging, use ally Ultimates, follow-up attacks, or the Destruction Path Resonance to get that last bit of Toughness down in-between turns.
- If players know they won't be able to drain her Toughness between the charging phase and full Punishment of Endless Winter attack, then they should focus on whatever turns remain before Cocolia's to build up shields and heal allies in preparation for a big chunk of damage.
- The Abundance Path Resonance is actually very helpful for this fight, as the Anicca Resonance Formation Blessing removes debuffs which can free all allies from the Frozen Status.
- Basically, this boils down to a DPS race for how fast players can steadily get through Cocolia's Phase 2 and then try to burn through her Phase 3 as quickly as possible.
- A lot of the attacks that Cocolia, the Ice Edges, and Bronya use are AoE, so taunting abilities aren't as useful here and shielding abilities are much more crucial.
Overall, it may take a couple of tries even with a guide, especially if players aren't over-geared or overleveled. But, each attempt also gives players more chances to Index all the Curios and Blessings for the Simulated Universe as well as steadily build up Ability Points for the Ability Tree. Once players do manage to defeat Cocolia, Bronya will 'die' right after, as she's considered one of Cocolia's 'Self-Destruct' units, and the achievement should be unlocked as soon as players exit the Simulated Universe.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
