Summary

  • Some Honkai: Star Rail fans aren't excited about Seele's upcoming banner re-run, opting to skip and save resources for new characters in the future.
  • Players already have Seele and Jing Yuan, or prefer to enhance Jing Yuan's abilities with his five-star Light Cone, leading them to skip Seele's re-run.
  • The fan reactions show that players are considering the current pool of characters and their team compositions, and many don't see the value in pulling for Seele when they already have better damage dealers.

Some Honkai: Star Rail fans don't seem excited about Seele's upcoming banner re-run. Originally released in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.1, Seele was the first five-star banner character to be revealed in the game. She will also be the first character to have a re-run in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail recently hosted its special Version 1.4 stream, where it showcased new characters, like five-stars Jingliu and Topaz and four-star Guinaifen, and other features that will excite its massive playerbase. One of the highly anticipated updates for this version will be the upcoming Seele re-run, where players could get another chance at pulling for the Quantum-type character for the first time or to increase her Eidolons.

Despite being the most popular Honkai: Star Rail banner character based on revenue, some players didn't seem that excited about Seele's re-run. In a Reddit poll by Humble_Empath_617, they asked fellow players if they would rather pull for Seele or Jing Yuan if he ever gets a re-run in the future. The poll showed that over 3,200 people out of over 5,300 voted "Skip again." Honkai: Star Rail fans further explained why they won't invest in pulling during the Seele or the hypothetical Jing Yuan re-runs because they'd rather pull for other character re-runs, such as Luocha and Blade.

A lot of Honkai: Star Rail players opted to skip because they already had both Seele and Jing Yuan, while others would rather get Jing Yuan's five-star Light Cone to enhance his abilities further. Others said they'd rather skip to save Stellar Jades and Star Rail passes for new five-star characters in the future, especially after Honkai: Star Rail already revealed Version 1.5's banner lineup consisting of Huohuo and Argenti, and four-star Hanya.

Based on the fan reactions, it seemed like they're considering the strengths of the current pool of Honkai: Star Rail characters, and how they synergize to create a strong team comp. It's understandable if many don't see the value in spending Stellar Jades or actual money to pull for Seele, especially if they have other damage dealers who they deemed better than her, and that's totally fine in the grand scheme of things. The great thing about games like Honkai:Star Rail is that it gives players a wide range of choices with every character release. Unless one is committed to collecting every character in the game, they won't have a difficult time finding units that could rival Seele or Jing Yuan.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices, with a PS5 version launching on October 11th.
