Honkai: Star Rail's Simulated Universes contains fun and unpredictable challenges that players won't typically see anywhere else in the game. Later on, once Trailblazers reach a sufficient power level, harder difficulties of this game mode become available, offering more rewards for anyone brave enough to try.

World 3 of the Simulated Universe was notorious during the early days of Honkai: Star Rail. The boss fight against Gepard at the end was a little too tough for some players and, for better or worse, this challenge remains the same even in the third difficulty setting for the level. Here are some recommendations on how to beat World 3 Difficulty 3 without too much trouble.

Just like in the previous stage, Difficulty 3 doesn't really shake anything up in terms of what players can expect. Gepard is still the final boss, and he still has all of his old tricks up his sleeve. The only real difference here is that everything will hurt a lot more thanks to their increased power levels.

There's a fair balance of elemental resistances across the enemies here, but players should find the most success with a mix of Physical and Lightning characters. Serval is still the go-to DPS carry here, though Jing Yuan might prove to be the better option for players who have him. Physical Trailblazer and Clara are also very strong against World 3's toughest enemies.

Good teams for World 3 Difficulty 3 would look like the following:

  • Physical team: Sushang, Bronya, March 7th, Natasha
  • Lightning team: Jing Yuan, Tingyun, March 7th, Natasha/Bailu

Sushang and Natasha can pile their damage on top of each other to break Physical Weaknesses more quickly. Meanwhile, Bronya will be responsible for buffing damage and topping off the team's SP.

Jing Yuan and Tingyun go hand-in-hand with each other—the latter buffs the former's offensive stats while also providing some much-needed Energy for Jing Yuan's Ultimate. Additionally, Tingyun can buff Jing Yuan's damage even further by equipping the Planetary Rendezvous Light Cone. Keep in mind that this composition will rely heavily on Lightning Lord to brute-force its way through enemies that aren't weak to Lightning.

March 7th is the preferred tank here because of her ability to Freeze enemies. The Silvermane Lieutenants that appear during Gepard's final phase are especially deadly. Finding a way to mitigate their damage goes a long way.

Bailu is a big help when it comes to sustaining through AOE damage thanks to her Talent. Natasha can do the same, albeit not as effectively.

For the Physical team, players will want to stack Hunt and Preservation bonuses. Sushang benefits a lot from Blessings which give her buffs after starting a new turn, which makes the Path of the Hunt an obvious choice. The important Blessings players need to look for are:

  • Celestial Annihilation
  • Imperial Reign
  • Flowing Mist
  • Ejecting the Borisin
  • Auspicious Star

On the other hand, a Jing Yuan Lightning team will want as many Elation buffs as possible. Lightning Lord will be able to destroy even Lightning-resistant targets if players build enough Follow-Up DMG bonuses. Keep an eye out for these Blessings while playing:

  • Auto-Harmonica: Whitest Night
  • Champion's Dinner: Cat's Cradle
  • Just Keep on Crying!
  • Portrait of a Man On Fire
  • Painted Albatross
  • Mostly Harmful
  • Suspiria
  • Exemplary Conduct

Since March 7th is going to be the main tank for this, players should try to get the Ultimate Experience: Shudder Blessing from the Path of Remembrance for a chance to inject Ice Weakness against enemies. This lets March deal Toughness damage to them while also decreasing their Freeze resistance.

Lastly, try to get Blessings that grant passive healing or shields. Fights against the boss and elites will have some degree of attrition, so it's best to come prepared. Interstellar Construct: Quadrangular Pyramid and Clear Lucite Body are good examples of such defensive buffs.

The general strategy when fighting Gepard stays the same as the previous difficulty levels. Eliminate his minions before he deploys his Garrison shield, and pop Ultimates whenever he does for big damage. Path Resonance upgrades for both Elation and Hunt are very good at breaking his shield.

Honkai: Star Rail is now available on Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation version is in development.
