In Honkai: Star Rail, the main character Trailblazer is initially introduced to players in their Physical Destruction form. Throughout a significant portion of the early story, players will be required to utilize this character, in particular until they can unlock Fire Trailblazer. Trailblazer excels in both single target and AoE damage, offering strong DPS potential. Additionally, Trailblazer provides valuable utility for Weakness Breaking and possesses survival capabilities through their Eidolons and techniques, which enable HP recovery.
In Honkai: Star Rail, the Physical Trailblazer is often compared to other DPS characters like Clara, another 5-star Physical Destruction character, or even to their other form, Fire Trailblazer, who offers more defensive support utility that may better complement other team compositions. However, Physical Trailblazer does possess a range of options with light cones and can still be highly effective when properly built.
5 Nowhere to Run
- Base ATK (LVL 80): 529

- Effect: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%. Whenever the wearer defeats an enemy, they restore HP equal to 12%/15%/18%/21%/24% of their ATK.
Nowhere to Run is an exclusive Nameless Glory light cone that aligns well with Physical Trailblazer's kit. It increases their ATK and provides an additional opportunity for HP recovery when Physical Trailblazer defeats an enemy. The main disadvantage of this light cone is that it is not F2P friendly. However, for players interested in collecting all the exclusive light cone options from the battle pass, it can be a good option to consider. The ATK increase may be considered inferior to the damage dealt, but for those who want to make their Physical Trailblazer as tanky as possible, it can still be a worthwhile option.
4 A Secret Vow

- Effect: Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%. The wearer also deals an extra 20%/25%/30%/35%/40% of DMG to enemies with a higher HP percentage than the wearer.
A Secret Vow is a 4-star Gacha option for Physical Trailblazer, providing an alternative for players who lack access to other options from their best Destruction light cones. It offers a flat damage increase without any conditions, which doubles when the enemies have a higher percentage of HP remaining. While Clara benefits from being attacked and can greatly benefit from A Secret Vow, in the case of Physical Trailblazer, considering their HP recovery potential, this light cone may be most beneficial for them during the early turns of the battle, before the enemies have lost a significant amount of HP.
3 The Moles Welcome You

- Effect: For every Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate used by the wearer, the wearer gains one stack of Mischievous. Each stack increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%/16%/18%/20%/24%.
The Moles Welcome You appears to be extremely strong based on its face value and translated effect, especially since it does not mention a maximum stack amount. However, players should be aware that it does not infinitely stack. The ATK buff from this light cone only stacks up to 3 times, with 1 stack from Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate each. This requires players to use all of them as early as possible to reach maximum stacks as early as possible. Despite this limitation, it can still be considered the best 4-star light cone option for Physical Trailblazer due to its 36% ATK increase without any superimposition.
2 Something Irreplaceable

- Effect: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%. When the wearer defeats an enemy or is hit, immediately restores HP equal to 6%/7.5%/9%/10.5%/12% of the wearer’s ATK. At the same time, the wearer’s DMG increases by 20%/25%/30%/35%/40% until the end of their next turn. This effect cannot stack and can only trigger 1 time per turn.
Something Irreplaceable may be Clara's signature 5-star light cone, but it also works great on Physical Trailblazer due to its ATK and DMG buffs, as well as the HP restoration that synergizes well with Physical Trailblazer's kit. The key to utilizing this light cone effectively is to ensure that Physical Trailblazer either defeats enemies or gets hit, which may require using a character like March 7th to target and shield them, increasing their likelihood of being attacked. Additionally, in battles with AoE damage against the team, this light cone can also provide significant benefits without relying on other factors to increase Physical Trailblazer's chance of getting hit.
1 On the Fall of an Aeon

- Effect: Whenever the wearer attacks, increase their ATK by 8%/10%/12%/14%/16% in this battle, up to 4 time(s). When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer’s DMG increases by 12%/15%/18%/21%/24% for 2 turn(s).
It may surprise some players to discover that a F2P option surpasses a 5-star gacha light cone, but that's exactly the case with equipping On the Fall of an Aeon on Physical Trailblazer. This provides a highly optimized F2P option for players who prefer not to rely on gacha characters or light cones. The light cone is easily obtainable and can be max superimposed by redeeming enough Herta Bonds from the Simulated Universe. This means that players only need a couple of weeks to obtain this option, unless they are pursuing other light cones from the selection. When max superimposed, this light cone offers a significant ATK increase of up to 64% and also a 24% DMG boost whenever Physical Trailblazer depletes the enemies' toughness meter, which they excel at.
Honkai Star Rail is available now on Mobile and PC, with a PS5 version launching in Q4 2023.
