Dark Horse Direct Reveals $150 Meridian City Aloy Statue Based on Horizon Forbidden West
The Best War Games can now exclusively reveal yet another such licensed product in the form of the Meridian City Aloy Statue inspired by Horizon Forbidden West. Standing at 10 inches tall and 6.7 inches wide, this collectible is on the larger end of what Dark Horse Direct typically puts out. And much like its name suggests, the figure is based on the Aloy statue that Sun-King Avad of Horizon's Carja Tribe has commissioned in the heroine's honor, erecting it in the city of Meridian. The collectible is planned to retail for $149.99 and will be limited to only 1,000 units. Pre-orders are now open, but limited to two per customer, presumably in an effort to prevent scalping.
Dark Horse Direct estimates that first shipments of the Meridian City Aloy Statue will start reaching customers between November 2024 and January 2025. Each unit will come with a base and its own hand-numbered certificate attesting to its authenticity.
The statue itself has been sculpted by Joseph Francis Menna, an award-winning artist who has been serving as the United States Mint Chief Engraver since early 2019. Additional sculpting and painting work was done by J.W. Productions, a frequent Dark Horse Direct collaborator that recently partnered with the company on limited-edition busts of Keyleth and Percy from Vox Machina Origins.
The newly unveiled statue is set to extend the list of Dark Horse Direct's works based on Guerrilla Games' hit PlayStation franchise. That group also includes a $999 statue of Aloy riding a Clawstrider, which was unveiled back in March 2024 and is currently available for pre-order. Prior to that, Dark Horse Direct produced a $50 fine art print of the Horizon Forbidden West map, which is presently in the process of shipping to customers and can still be purchased. Not long after the latest mainline Horizon game debuted on PlayStation consoles, the company also launched a $99 PVC Aloy figure, which has long been sold out.
