The fight with Libra, Creature of Night, is one of the most unique fights in the game purely because of the starting mechanic where players need to choose a buff and a debuff, which can change how the fight works. This guide explains his patterns, counters, and weaknesses in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Staff Slam		The boss slams his staff into the player.
Teleport		Libra crushes the light in his hands with a slightly different animation and teleports shortly after, creating a small explosive burst wherever he reappears.
Madness Ritual		The boss sits on the ground and starts hitting his weapon in a ritualistic manner, causing Madness to build up in a large area.
Rotating Golden Glyph		Libra spawns a glyph that rotates while constantly shooting projectiles.
Splitting Golden Rain		The boss casts two splitting golden rains that explode in a small radius when they come into contact with the ground.
Meditative Barrier		Libra enters a Meditative Stance and creates a barrier around him, shortly followed by multiple glyphs appearing all around the boss.
Madness Eruption		The boss sits down and causes Madness to shoot out from different areas of the ground.
Madness Heave		Libra heaves the ground, causing a trail of Madness to shoot out.
Relentless Slams		While in Rage Mode, the boss starts slamming down furiously multiple times and can switch targets after each slam.
Shoulder Charge		Libra charges at the player, using his whole body to strike.
Madness Descend		The boss starts to form Madness in the sky, which he then drops onto a large area.

Libra, Creature of Night Weaknesses

Libra is another boss who takes extra damage from several affinities. His main weakness is Madness, but players can also use Fire or Holy if they have access to weapons with those elements. Since Madness camps and locations are rare, you'll likely have to rely on the other two affinities. The boss is also susceptible to Poison, Rot, and Frostbite, so keep that in mind if you don’t have any weapons that target his primary weaknesses.

If you have the Crater Shifting Earth Event active, you can find several Greater Formidable Enemies that may drop fire armaments, perfect for this fight. Additionally, reaching the bottom of the Crater lets you battle the Magma Wyrm and access the Smithing Table, which upgrades your weapon to Legendary rarity.

As for Fire sources, keep an eye out for Greater Churches with Fire Monks or Encampments with Flame Chariots.

General Strategy For Equilibrious Beast In Elden Ring Nightreign

The boss fight with Libra, Creature of Night, starts off with him being in his merchant attire. Talking to him, you will get multiple deals that you can take. These are not outright blessings that you can acquire for free. There is a give and take, but most of the time, the deals are both worth it. There is also an option to reject the deal, which works well in the majority of cases.

After the fight begins, the Libra will start using the Frenzied Geyser and Golden Glyphs to shoot projectiles at you. An important thing to keep in mind is that the boss has a habit of either casting the glyph underneath you or teleporting to your location. In both of these cases, it is best not to relentlessly attack throughout the phase, and you should pace yourself. Try attacking twice, then wait for a second to see what the boss does. If he spawns a glyph below you and you are in the attack animation, you will get hit and lose around 50% of your health, which is not ideal.

Perhaps the most crucial thing to focus on is when the Libra enters his Meditation Phase. During this phase, the boss will spawn three glyphs around it that players must break by Surge Sprinting through them or attacking them. The next time the boss goes into the Meditation Phase, he will spawn even more glyphs, which might be hard to break before the boss gets back up. In the case that you are unable to break the glyphs, the Libra will get buffed and start using relentless attacks, while also having a Rotating Golden Glyph shooting projectiles throughout the buffed phase. This phase makes the fight extremely difficult, so it's recommended that you break the glyphs at all costs.

An easy way to deal with the barrier is by using your Ultimate Art. Most Nightfarers can break the barrier, and this will cause the boss to stagger for a few seconds before it goes into his Rage Mod e. During the Rage Mode, you must avoid all attacks and wait for the phase to end. The ranged characters can still continue their damage output if Libra is not targeting them. For the Madness Eruption and the Madness Descend, you must run away from the boss to avoid taking damage.

Throughout the fight, the boss will use attacks that increase your Madness build-up. This can be avoided by picking up the small glowing crystals, which cure some of your HP and also cures the Madness build-up.

If you find any Clarifying Boluses during the first two days, you should use them immediately, as they give a permanent Madness resistance buff for the whole duration of the expedition.

Best Team Composition For Libra In Elden Ring Nightreign

For Libra, Creature of Night, having the right team composition is a must. The primary reason why a normal matchmaking team might have trouble completing the Equilibrious Beast expedition is because of the Barrier Phase. As you need to break the barrier using your Ultimate Art, it's impossible to have your teammates hold onto their Ults for the next phase while you use your Ultimate for the current one. However, if you can communicate with the other two players, you can easily call out the phase when it happens and use your Arts wisely. Ironeye, Raider, and Wylder can break the barrier by simply pressing the Ultimate, meanwhile, Executor must use his charged crucible attack while transformed.

Executor is a great addition to the team, mainly because of the multiple Status Ailments he can inflict onto the boss. If you equip the Night of the Wise Relic (Sentient Pest expedition) and the Night of the Miasma Relic (Fissure in the Fog expedition), you can have your primary Katana deal Bleed, Poison, and Frostbite, given you use the Skill on the weapon as well. Combine this with a Fire or Holy weapon on your left hand, and you will be dealing all kinds of damage throughout the fight.

One of the best things about Executor is that you can basically parry all of Libra’s attacks if you use the Cursed Sword correctly. Parrying is effective not only against physical attacks but also against projectiles and AOE spells if timed right. This prevents the Executor from building up madness and allows them to stay in the fight for long durations without needing to heal.

Ironeye and Wylder are both great, as they have a unique dash ability of their own, which lets them close the gap or get out of risky attacks.

After you defeat Libra, Creature of Night, and complete the Equilibrious Beast Expedition, you will get a bunch of Relics, Murk, and the Night of the Demon Relic, which grants the following effects:
