Elden Ring Nightreign shifts away from the traditional Soulslike formula and dives into a roguelike format where players must team up with friends or other online players to take down powerful bosses, all the way to the Nightlord.

Best FromSoftware Games For Newcomers

FromSoftware games are known for being challenging and grueling experiences, but some of them are a bit more newcomer-friendly than others.

Among the many interactive elements, players will eventually encounter large statues partially buried in the ground. These statues emit a faint glow from the chest area, signaling that they can be broken. Here is everything players need to know about breaking these glowing statues and the rewards they may uncover inside.

How To Break Glowing Cracked Statues In Elden Ring Nightreign

The Cracked Statues are randomized, meaning you may not encounter them during every expedition. If you do come across one, it can be confusing at first, as you won’t be able to interact with or damage it through normal means. Much like the breakable statues in Elden Ring, you can lure a nearby enemy or boss and bait them into attacking the statue, which will cause it to break. Alternatively, if there are no enemies nearby, you can use your Ultimate Art directly on the statue to shatter it.

Once broken, the statue will drop an item such as a Claw and an upgrade material, namely a Smithing Stone. These Smithing Stones can then be used to enhance your weapons at a Smithing Table, typically located next to the Ghostly Merchants.

Where To Find Upgrade Materials In Elden Ring Nightreign

Where To Find Upgrade Materials In Elden Ring Nightreign 1

Upgrade materials in Elden Ring Nightreign are relatively rare, but there are a few reliable ways to acquire them. Aside from breaking the glowing statues, you can purchase Smithing Stone [1] from Ghostly Merchants for 6,500 Runes. Although the price is steep, this allows you to upgrade your weapon from common to uncommon rarity.

Where To Find Upgrade Materials In Elden Ring Nightreign 2

To obtain Smithing Stone [2], you will need to locate a Tunnel on the map. At the bottom of these Tunnels, you will usually encounter a Troll, and defeating it rewards you with a Smithing Stone [2]. In a nearby side room, you can also find several chests that often contain Smithing Stone [1].

These Tunnels are one of the most consistent sources of upgrade materials, so it is highly recommended to clear one on the first day of your expedition.
