Terapagos is a Normal-type Pokemon shown in the promotional material for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's The Indigo Disk DLC. It is indeed a Legendary Pokemon that can be caught in the latest DLC, but as for how it can be encountered, that's where this guide comes into play. Here's what you need to know about getting Terapagos in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
This guide will be going into slight end-game spoilers for the story of The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Proceed with caution.
Pokemon: This New Terapagos Fan Theory Might Explain Where Paradox Pokemon Come From
A new Pokemon fan theory speculates that Terapagos is the key to understanding where Paradox Pokemon come from.
How to Get Terapagos in The Indigo Disk
You will not be able to have an encounter with Terapagos until you beat all four BB Elite Four Trials and then fight Kieran as part of the storyline. Once that happens, you'll be invited by Ms. Briar to take a visit to Area Zero. This is where the Terapagos encounter happens. And don't worry about missing it --it's part of the story and is not a random encounter or something like that. There's a deeper section of Area Zero underneath the Lab, where Terapagos slumbers.
After reaching the lab with the teacher and the rest of the group, you'll take an elevator further into the underdepths. There will be several instances where crystals block the path, and you must defeat the nearby Pokemon with the Stellar Tera Type form (it'll be glowing).
Eventually, the group will find Terapagos, but Kieran will catch it, which starts a battle with him. Once you beat Kieran, Terapagos will enter its true form, even going so far as to break Kieran's Master Ball that it was caught in, and another battle will begin. Bring its health bar down to zero, and you'll have a guaranteed chance to capture it using any type of Poke Ball.
It's worth noting that while Terapagos is a Normal-type Pokemon, normally making it weak to Fighting-type moves, it can and most likely will change its type during the second battle. Make sure to watch out for the effectiveness of your attacks to ensure maximum damage.
Terapagos Info

There are also a couple of things to know when it comes to Terapagos' abilities and forms:
- Terapagos' default ability is Tera Shift. Once it enters battle, it transforms into its Terastal Form.
- It has the Tera Shell ability when it's in its Terastal Form. All damage-dealing moves hitting Terapagos when its HP is full will be less effective.
- And once you Terastallize Terapagos, it gains the Teraform Zero ability, removing all weather and terrain effects.
