How To Switch Characters In Elden Ring Nightreign

Right after finishing the tutorial of Elden Ring Nightreign, you'll be given up to six characters to play as, with the ability to unlock more as you keep playing. Whatever your playstyle is, there is a class that comes close to it, bringing along some powerful skills to shake up even an Elden Ring veteran's go-to style.

You can't switch characters in the middle of an expedition, so it's important to choose wisely before setting off. Here's how to switch which character you're playing as in Elden Ring Nightreign.

How To Change Characters In Elden Ring Nightreign

If you're choosing to play alone, it's important to change your character to the one you want to play as before interacting with the Roundtable. In the main room of the Roundtable Hold, look to the opposite side of the room from The Priestess to see a suit of armor holding a shield and a golden bell. Walk up and interact with the golden bell to open up the character menu and choose which character you want to play as.

This will also change the character you are currently in the Roundtable Hold. As long as you begin a Solo Expedition, you'll immediately begin the opening cutscene, playing as the character you were in the Roundtable Hold.

When choosing to play multiplayer, the character you currently are in the Roundtable Hold doesn't matter. Interact with the Roundtable and either begin searching for a group or start one with friends. After all players have connected, you'll get the character selection screen where you'll choose which character to play as during this expedition. This menu is timed, and if you're not fast, the game will start you as whatever character you were currently hovering over.

After a multiplayer game, you will be your last chosen character when returning to the Roundtable Hold.

There is no limitation on how many players can play as one character in multiplayer during an expedition, meaning all three players can choose the same character if you want. While this is possible, it's not always ideal as each character serves a role and can help deal with the stronger enemies that have health to deal with a party of three.
