There are a couple of secret bosses you can track down and defeat in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 to earn special rewards, trophies, and achievements. While definitely a challenge to take down, the Sprong boss is actually one of the easier "secret" fights when compared to the likes of Simon and Serpenphare.

You will need to first unlock the swimming ability for Esquie before you can reach Sprong. This will happen at the end of Act 1 of Expedition 33.

Where to Find Sprong in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

You can find Sprong walking around in the water on The Continent, just south of Blades' Graveyard/Forgotten Battlefield and Northeast of Crimson Forest/Endless Tower. The dangerous Nevron is really hard to miss, as it's really tall. Once you bump into it with Esquie, the fight will begin.

Tips for Beating Sprong

It's worth noting that when we defeated Sprong, we had already completed the main story and a good chunk of side content, so our levels were creeping towards the 80s range. With that being said, Sprong might be better challenged once you progress more into the game.

If you're just starting out and trying to beat Sprong upon first encounter, it will not be easy (unless you can manage to parry and dodge all of its moves). However, if you are going to try and take it down the old-fashioned way and not grind, be sure to bring a weapon that deals Lightning damage -Sprong is weak to it and will take extra damage.

If you're a fan of using Maelle in your party (as you should be), we have a dedicated Maelle build guide here that you can use to knock Sprong's socks off.

Rewards for Beating Sprong in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Not only will you get the Sprong achievement, but you will also get 880K XP, three Grandiose Chroma Catalysts, 15,980K Chroma, and the Cheater Pictos.
