V Rising Invaders of Oakveil brought many changes to the game, with a new area, enemies, bosses, spells, and weapons. The Twinblade, Throwing Daggers, and Claws are the new additions to the player's vampirical arsenal in this hack-and-slash survival game.
V Rising: Weapon Coating Guide
Weapon Coatings are a powerful consumable added in the 1.1 V Rising update. Here's a complete guide including all weapon coatings and their effects.
With some incredible combos and skills, these weapons have greatly affected V Rising's meta, so it will be great for players to familiarize themselves with their properties. For those wondering where to get these new weapons, this guide will cover everything they need to know to get their hands on these new weapons, as well as information on their skills, optimal builds, pros, and cons.
How To Get The Twinblade In V Rising
The Twinblade will be the first new weapon players can obtain while exploring the Dunley Farms area. They need to defeat Gaius the Cursed Champion, who will be located at the Colosseum POI. The Colosseum was previously a social area for the players who wanted to enjoy a little PvP, but now, it becomes an actual arena when players approach and interact with the green banner in the middle of the circle.
To beat Gaius, players will have to face him inside a shrinking circle that creates a death zone. Outside of the zone, players will receive increasing periodical damage until they die, and Gaius can kick them out of the circle using his leap attack. Stick close to the center of the arena and face Gaius head-on, making sure to cause him as much damage as possible.
Gaius can sometimes get stuck in the scenario after performing his leap attack, which will cause his health to reset. Try to fight far from the borders of the arena to prevent this bug from happening.
Ranged weapons are a bad idea, since the second the player gives him enough space, he will use his dash and push attack to kick them out of the arena. Instead, use spells like Frost Shield, or Cursed Shield to fend off most of his attacks, then hit fast and heavy using weapons that cause lots of damage, like the Axes, or the Spear.
V Rising: How to Unlock Treasury Flooring
Here's a complete guide on everything players need to know to unlock the Treasury Flooring in V Rising following the 1.1 update.
Once players slay this foe, they will be able to unlock the Twinblade, which has the unique property to perform double-hit attacks with each part of its combo. It has a moderate attack speed, and two powerful skills:
- Javelin: Tosses the weapon towards the target location, dealing 125% physical damage and inflicting a 1.5s fading snare in an area. The weapon automatically recalls after 2s causing it to pierce, pull, and deal 80% physical damage to enemies in its path. Recast the ability to dash towards the weapon, pushing back foes. This action will cancel the recall.
- Sweeping Strike: Lunges forward and swings the twinblade, dealing 100% physical damage in a line and launching enemies into the air and to the opposite side of the player.
Deadly and with great reach, paired with its mobility/cc combo, the Twinblade is one of the top 5 best weapons in V Rising. The meta has been considerably altered by its introduction to the game, and those looking to have success in PvP should consider adding this weapon to their main build. The only problem with the Twinblade, is that it doesn't cause as much damage as other melee two-handed weapons like the Mace or the Great Sword.
Since the Twinblade has moderate attack speed, pairing it with Chaos Surge or Blood Rage can compensate for its slow attack pattern. Its semi-circular combos have a lot of reach, and allow the players to harass their rivals and keep them at bay using its powerful crowd control kit. Use Storm Veil to gain even more attack speed, or Chaos Veil to add an extra AoE explosion each time it hits burning enemies.
How To Get The Daggers In V Rising
The Daggers can be obtained by defeating Bane the Shadowblade, who often roams around Dunley Farms' roads following a circular path that starts at Dunley Monastery and goes up to Dawnbreak Village, and then north to Bastion of Dunley. Bane will be hidden as a 'traveler' wearing a cloak, which is the standard model for the 'Human' disguise power. There will be many decoys similar to Bane, but the right way to find it is by tracking his V Blood. That way, players will know which is the real one. Bane often spawns near the northern Waygate, so keep that area in check if he doesn't appear in the southern area of Dunley Farms.
When players attack Bane, the battle will begin, and he will attack everything on sight. Keep the distance and use Crossbows and Bows to chip away at his health. Use Chaos Shield or Cursed Shield to reflect damage or summon Skeletons to keep him busy. Once Bane uses his 'disguise trap power,' players need to aim at the decoy that is not facing them and glows with a purple mist. The rest of the cloaked decoys will be traps that will summon skeletons if destroyed.
Bane can be cheesed by using Range weapons, but beware: If players go too far from the starting point of the fight, he will flee combat and reset his health.
Keep causing damage, evading his doppleganger dagger throw attack, and moving away from its roundhouse AoE sweep, and he will be dead in no time. Bane is not an excessively hard boss, but watch out for enemy players (if its a PvP server) since there's a chance they might drop mid-fight to claim either bane or the player's loot.
V Rising: How To Get Sulphur
Experienced jewelcrafters will need sulphur in abundance. Instead of relying on chance, there is an ideal farming spot and technique to harvest some.
Once players defeat Bane, they will receive the Daggers' blueprint. Once crafted, they will be able to toy with their particularly effective passive, which stores 4 daggers every few seconds without attacking, and then throws them in quick succession. Its second passive makes daggers bounce and fall off targets, then remain on the ground. Here are the Daggers' abilities:
- Rain of Daggers: Leaps into the air and throws 4 daggers in front of the player, each dagger deals 40% physical damage and inflicts a 2s fading snare. Daggers remain on the ground for 8s.
- Release Daggers: Inflicts a 1.5s fading snare in a Circular AoE around the player and releases all nearby daggers that are stuck in the ground. Released daggers return to the player, piercing enemies and dealing 40% physical damage. Each dagger that returns grants one dagger stack and reduces the cooldown of Rain of Daggers by 0.2s.
The Daggers are mid-range weapons, similar to the Pistols and Whip, but with a focus on mobility as their primary goal. Hit-and-run tactics, then call the daggers for maximum damage output, is the way to go with this weapon. Its only drawback
Daggers benefit mostly from Attack Speed and Move Speed builds. A mobility player using Storm Veil will have their attack speed increased, or they can use Veil of Frost to apply chill with the dagger's attacks, causing slow on enemies and priming them for a powerful barrage when Release Daggers is activated. Frost Nova and Frost Bat are also good options for this build. Daggers can also melt down bosses in a matter of seconds, so they're a great PVE tool.
How To Get The Claws In V Rising
The Claws are the third and final weapon players will be able to unlock, and they will have to face Frostmaw, one of the most dangerous mid-game bosses in Vardoran. He can be found roaming around the Hallowed Mountains. Once players enter combat with this creature, they should make sure no one is around, since Frostmaw can summon a powerful blizzard that obscures vision and makes it impossible to see outside of the combat zone.
Frostmaw can also dash at incredible speed, clawing at the player and freezing it in a couple of hits, which will most likely be followed by a powerful frost breath attack. Fighting it at close range is a bad idea, but players won't be safe using Crossbows, Daggers, or Bows either, since this creature uses an Icicle attack that is cast in a cone pattern. Icicle shards can freeze players on hits, but they can be avoided by blocking them with structures (rocks, trees, etc.) Or using Shield Spells (Chaos Shield, Frost Shield, Cursed Shield).
When Frostmaw calls forth the snowstorm, he will start roaming inside and outside the range of visibility, so watch out for his surprise attacks. Keep dodging and striking at the right moment to defeat him and claim the prized Claws blueprint.
The Claws are powerful melee weapons that have combos of 3 attacks, the third of which inflicts Puncture (stacks up to 3 times). Players can then trigger a rupture, dealing 75% damage to the target and 50% damage to nearby enemies upon reaching maximum stacks. They are formidable weapons, which also have two powerful skills:
- Lunge: Vault towards the cursor and cleaves enemies, dealing 120% physical damage and inflicting Puncture. Lunge can trigger a Puncture rupture to cause even more damage.
- Skewering Leap: Leap to target location, dealing 100% physical damage, inflicting Puncture and a 1s incapacitate. The players bounce off enemies towards their aiming direction. Missing an enemy will cause them to stick to the ground for a short duration (0,3 s).
The Claws are formidable at close range, with the only drawback of that slight stun delay if the players miss Skewering Leap, they don't have many weak spots. They are ideal for those looking to build a berserker vampire, with uber-healing capabilities, and lots of attack speed.
Use the claws combined with Maximum Attack Speed (Brute Blood + A. Speed Equipment + Elixir of the Werewolf) to trigger Puncture faster and cause tons of damage. Combine Attack Speed with Leech effects from the Veil of Blood, or add even more Attack Speed with Storm Veil. Using the claws with Blood Rage and Phantom Aegis is recommended for PvP, more so if players have Brute Blood, since it will help with leech and mitigation. Use Spells like Frost Nova and or Wraith Spear to apply fast CC and close in to deliver powerful attacks.
