Elden Ring Nightreign doesn't have as much of an in-depth character build system, though players do still have a lot of creativity in how they want to play each character. Each character does have things they are best at, but this doesn't stop you from trying any weapon or spell on any character.

Not every character drops into the game with spells and incantations to use, but anyone who knows how to get them can use them. Here's how incantations work and where to find sacred seals.

Players will come across Relics after attempting an Expedition in Elden Ring Nightreign. Here's what to do with the extra Relics.

How Do Incantations Work In Elden Ring Nightreign

Incantations are tied to Sacred Seals in Elden Ring Nightreign, so if you find and equip a seal, you can use the spells attached to it. Every Seal you find throughout the game will have one or two spells equipped, and those are the only two spells you'll be able to use from that seal. This does mean that if you want a different incantation, you'll need to find a different seal to equip.

Like any other weapon in Limveld, Sacred Seals have levels and rarity, with higher rarity Seals usually having better incantations equipped to them. It is important to note that the FP cost for incantations will greatly scale based on how powerful the incantation is, and depending on your character, this will limit how effective that incantation is for you to use.

Incant Scaling is a stat on Sacred Seals that determines the amount of damage Incantations from that seal will do.

Best Characters To Use Sacred Seals & Incantations

While not directly stated, each character has affinities towards different stats, as is clearly seen in your HP, FP, and Stamina bars when leveling up. The following characters have a higher Faith attribute than others, making them ideal when using Sacred Seals:

Where To Find Sacred Seals In Elden Ring Nightreign

For the most part, Sacred Seals will be random drops you get from enemies and chests. Chests have a decent chance of dropping them and are usually found in forts and castles, and there's always a small chance you'll get one from a boss Cache. Sacred Seals can also be sold by merchants, with better ones being sold on the second day. For the most part, good Sacred Seals and strong Incantations will come from the above methods and a lot of chance.

In the northwestern section of the map, there are two destroyed houses and a few enemies dressed like the Prophet class. Interacting with the statues inside the house will give you the prompt, "Take Sacred Seal," which will then drop two Sacred Seals for you to take. These Seals are usually very low-level, common, and with basic spells, but can be a useful starting option if you want to center your build around incantations.

There are statues like this one spread out throughout Limveld, but after the first few minutes of the first day, the Seals from them aren't as useful. You can sometimes find these statues by looking on the map and looking for the Sacred Seal icon, helping you specifically track down new spells.
