Obtaining Plasma Cores isn't the easiest thing in the world. In fact, they are one of the rarest ammo types in the game, making them extremely difficult to find and use. However, there are numerous ways that players can find them, so it can be simpler to find them in later portions of the game. Here's a breakdown of how to get them.

  • Craft them
    • x7 Copper
    • x10 Lead
    • x3 Nuclear Material
    • x5 Plastic

  • Loot every Ammo Box (they are very rare but can be found this way)
  • Purchase from vendors (the ones in Whitespring Resort can sometimes sell this ammo)
  • Finishing Daily Ops (players will usually get ammo for the weapons they use)
  • Finishing Expeditions (like the Daily Ops, using a Gatling Plasma can help players get the ammo)
  • Some players have noted that Radiation Rumble will drop a good bit of this ammo as well

Additionally, having specific Perks (like the Scrounger Perk) can make finding ammo easier in general. Players can also use Perks such as the Legendary Ammo Factory Perk (one of the best Legendary Perks available) or Science Perk to get more out of their ammo.
