Where To Get Smithscript Shield in Shadow Of The Erdtree

The Smithscript Shield is located within Taylew's Ruined Forge, where you can also find the Smithscript Axe and Smithscript Greathammer. If you're unsure of the forge's location, fear not. Follow these steps, and you'll acquire the shield in no time.

  1. Spawn at the Ancient Ruins Base Site of Grace and head north for approximately 30 seconds on your trusted steed, Torrent.
  2. Look for a cave positioned between two braziers — this is your destination.
  3. Head inside the cave until you reach the Taylew's Ruined Forge Site of Grace directly ahead.
  4. Proceed deeper into the cave until you reach a balcony. From there, turn left and follow the path leading down a ladder.
  5. Continue straight and jump across a gap. Look to your right and jump onto the large pipe.
  6. Climb to the top of the pipe and jump to the balcony on your right.
  7. Head south into the next room, and then take a ramp made of broken structures to reach the upper level.
  8. In this area, either defeat the enemies or quickly retrieve the Smithscript Shield from a nearby dead body.

This brand-new small shield features a unique skill called Discus Hurl, which does exactly what you might expect. With the Smithscript Shield, the Tarnished can hurl their shield at enemies to inflict damage. This skill consumes 3 FP and does not allow for charging or executing follow-up attacks. Thanks to video game logic, the shield instantly returns to the player’s hand.

Unfortunately, the Smithscript Shield cannot be infused with an Ash of War, but it can be upgraded up to +25 using Smithing Stones.
