Even on a planet that's been cut off from the rest of the galaxy, players will still need Cash if they want to buy their necessities in Borderlands 4. The economy hasn't changed much on Kairos, but if you want guns, equipment, ammo, and more guns, you'll need to have a lot of money at the ready.

Thankfully, money comes somewhat easy in Borderlands 4, especially during the campaign. However, players can run out of it just as quickly if they find themselves relying on vending machines a lot. If you want an efficient way to get what is basically unlimited cash, then here's a simple trick you can do.

Best Way to Get Money in Borderlands 4

BL4 700k Cash Gain

The easiest and fastest way to get Cash is to farm bosses or Ripper Drill Site encounters. In Borderlands 4, players can use Encore machines to instantly reset these big combat encounters. Using an Encore machine costs Cash, but the amount you have to pay is nothing compared to the profit you can make, especially if you end up getting good gear.

Once you complete a repeatable encounter, pick up the most valuable pieces of loot you can find and sell them at any of the vending machines next to the nearby Encore machine. You'll usually get enough money to break even just by selling one purple-rarity weapon, and if you can get several of them (or just sell multiple blues or greens), you'll make more than enough Cash to turn a profit.

Some of the best places to farm includes:

  • Any of the main story bosses
  • Any of the three optional Vault bosses
  • Bramblesong in the Stoneblood Forest Augur Mine in Terminus Range
  • Sidney Pointylegs in the Prospects Drill Site in the Fadefields

We recommend Sidney Pointylegs and Bramblesong here because they drop some strong legendary loot that players will be able to use well regardless of what their build is:

  • Sidney drops the Swarm, a legendary grenade that releases target-seeking darts. Each dart can hit a single target multiple times.
  • Bramblesong drops the legendary Convergence shotgun, another weapon that's all about dealing massive damage to a single target.

If you can get both the Swarm and Convergence, you'll pretty much be set for your other boss-hunting endeavors. These are great on any Vault Hunter, though Vex can probably get the most use of them thanks to her Kinetic attunement and ability to cause Bleeding with Kinetic damage.

If you want to make extra cash without repeatedly farming bosses or while doing the campaign, grab some contracts from the bounty boards in safe zones, then do those as you're progressing through the campaign.
