Battlefield 6 is a chaotic game, and if you want to have a more relaxing time after a long day, then playing the game with bots might be the way to go. Unlike the previous game in the series, BF6 doesn't feature a dedicated solo/co-op vs AI playlist. Instead, it has a mixed training mode as well as Portal lobbies to serve as stand-ins.
In most cases, fighting against bots is a great way to also rank up, complete challenges, and get new attachments for guns in Battlefield 6. In this guide, we'll be showing you all the options you have for when you want to fight against AI instead of players.
Battlefield 6: How to Play With Friends (Crossplay, Explained)
Battlefield 6 allows matchmaking for multiplayer modes between players across PC, Xbox, & PlayStation via Crossplay, here's how to play with friends.
How to Play with Bots in Battlefield 6
The first and most obvious answer here is to hop into a Portal server. Depending on where you are, there should be plenty of PvE servers online that feature full progression. You can tell if you get XP and challenge progress from a server by going to the server browser and checking the server's info. Also, if there's a Full XP tag on top of a server's display image, that means you'll make progress there like you would in a regular game.
We can't stress enough how important it is to look for the Full XP tag if you want to farm XP in BF6. If you play on a server with the Modified XP tag, you won't make any challenge progress, and you won't get XP until the end of the match.
How to Play Solo Bot Lobbies in Battlefield 6
Now, if you want to play by yourself against the AI, you'll need to host your own Portal server. The easiest way to do this is to find a PvE/XP farm server on the server and host a lobby using the same rules. To do this, follow these instructions:
- Scroll down the main menu until you see the Browse Servers button.
- Look for a server that has bots enabled.
- Highlight a server of your choice.
- Press the Server Info button.
- On the screen that appears, select Host.
- Enter a password.
- Host the lobby.
Alternatively, you can create your own Battlefield 6 Portal server. Pick a Verified game mode, then make sure that the Bots setting is turned to Backfill. However, there's a limit to how many Portal lobbies can be active at a time, and if you're getting the Global Game Quota Exceeded error in BF6 when you're trying to host a lobby, you'll need to wait until other lobbies go offline.
XFCP (by ParadiseCentrl) is one of the most popular Battlefield 6 bot lobby codes as of writing. In it, you can farm XP and attachments for hours on end.
How to Play Against AI Without Portal in BF6
There's a pseudo-cooperative mode in BF6 called Breakthrough Initiation — you'll still get matched with other players here, but there's a max player limit of 16, with 8 people per team. The rest of the server slots are occupied by AI, and you'll get full progression here too.
You can find Breakthrough Initiation under the Training Grounds tab in the main menu. Just scroll down or use the shortcuts to navigate to it. Unfortunately, this mode becomes unavailable after you make enough progress with your account. It should disappear from the menu once you hit Rank 10 or 15.
