Helldivers 2 pulls no punches when it comes to killing players, with Helldivers exploding and being torn apart in all sorts of ways depending on the enemy they are fighting or how they die. Many enemies in the game can be more of a threat than just how they initially deal damage, with burning damage being one of the biggest threats out there.

Burning damage can quickly cut through your health, and will even linger on your body for a few seconds after initially being caught on fire. Here are all the things you can do to try and lower burning damage as much as possible.

Burning Resistance Armor in Helldivers 2

The I-102 Draconaught Armor in the Warbond Menu

At the time of writing, there are three armor sets that lower your fire/burning damage.

  • AC-2 Obedient - 50% Fire Resistance.
  • I-09 Heatseeker Armor - 75% Fire Resistance
  • I-102 Draconaught Armor - 75% Fire Resistance

The second two options are from the Freedom's Flame Warbond, and overall, the I-102 Draconaught is the best option as it is the only one that has an armor rating of 100. While this doesn't affect its fire resistance, it still makes it handle other damage types at the same level as any other medium armor. The top two options offer great fire resistance as opposed to none at all, but the armor rating of only 50 does mean you can just as easily die to whatever enemy is causing the fire, as fire is usually the after-effect of something else.

AC-2 Obedient is a free armor piece, and usually the first light armor piece players get in the game.

How To Resist Burning Damage in Helldivers 2

The Player Diving Away From Dragonroach Breath

If you're fighting an enemy that breathes fire, such as the Dragonroach, your only real option outside of not being hit is to dive your way through the fire-based attack. While you will still get hit, this will greatly reduce the incoming damage while you're flying through the air. You'll also want to make sure you're diving away from the attack's location, as landing in fire will only continue your burning.

The second you start burning, you'll almost always want to use a Stim as you're health will drain completely in less than five seconds without proper resistance. Whenever you do see fire on the ground, be sure to give it at least a meter and don't get too close, as the actual fire animation isn't always accurate to its area of effect.
