Ghost of Tsushima was critically praised upon its release in 2020 for the PS4. Then, it garnered praise again after the release of the Iki Island DLC. Now, the game is finally making its way to PC, allowing PC owners to play it in all its glory in the form of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. While the game explains many of its mechanics well, players still have questions about dodging attacks, especially red attacks. Keeping this in mind, this guide will cover everything there is to know about dodging in Ghost of Tsushima, along with other useful information.
Ghost of Tsushima PC Players Are Killing an Unkillable Boss
Some Ghost of Tsushima PC players have found a way to kill a boss that was meant to be unkillable, but the 'reward' for doing so isn't great.
Dodging Attacks in Ghost of Tsushima
There are two ways to dodge attacks in Ghost of Tsushima: dodging and dodge rolling.
How to Dodge
The dodging mechanic allows Jin to quickly evade an attack and go on the counteroffensive. Players can perform this maneuver by following these steps:
- Wait for the enemy to attack.
- Move the Left Analog Stick and press O in any direction to dodge any attack (Arrow Key + Left Ctrl for PC).
- Now, you can go on the offensive.
You can unlock the Perfect Dodge skill later in the game, which allows you to dodge at the last moment to perform a lethal counterattack.
How to Dodge Roll
If you are in a bad position and a simple dodge won’t cut it, you should execute a dodge roll to get in a better position. You can also use this mechanic to extinguish burning, and dodge ranged attacks to get closer to archers and move in for the kill. To dodge roll, move the Left Analog Stick and press the O button twice in any direction (Arrow Key + Left Ctrl twice for PC).
The Roll is an unlockable skill unavailable from the get-go.
How to Dodge Red Attacks in Ghost of Tsushima
Depending on your positioning and how many enemies you face, you will need to dodge or dodge roll to evade red attacks or unblockable attacks. For instance, if you are facing an enemy solo, as soon as their weapon flashes red, execute a simple dodge and follow up with an attack. However, when you are up against multiple adversaries and an enemy weapon flashes red, you should dodge roll instead.
All in all, you have everything you need to know about dodging in Ghost of Tsushima. Make the most of this information and become a legend on Tsushima Island.
