You need all sorts of resources for upgrading and constructing things across the Chiral Network in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but none are as important as Chiral Crystals. These yellow crystals are used for everything in Death Stranding 2, but they're not as easy to collect as standard materials.
Thankfully, there are quite a few sources that you can rely on for Chiral Crystals in Death Stranding 2. You'll get quite a few of them just by playing the game and progressing through the main story normally, but if you want to build expensive structures like highways, large bridges, or zipline networks, you're going to need more Chiral Crystals than you'd think. These are the best places to get Chiral Crystals in Death Stranding 2.
How to Increase Facility Connection Levels in Death Stranding 2
Facilities can get players rewards for increasing their connection level. Here's how the connection leveling process works in Death Stranding 2.
Best Chiral Crystal Farming Spots in Death Stranding 2
Since Chiral Crystals are inherently connected to the Beach, you can get them from any activities involving BTs and tar. Defeating BTs in Death Stranding 2 is one of the best ways to get Chiral Crystals, since the ghostly creatures will leave some in their wake after being eliminated, This is especially true for the boss BTs that you'll face throughout the main story.
In addition, Chiral Crystals tend to pop up anywhere with a large concentration of tar. Mines are particularly great spots for Chiral Crystal farming since they're soaked in tar. You can find mines all across Australia in Death Stranding 2. Some optional orders even direct you right to them, saving you the trouble of tracking them down yourself.
Every 1000cg of Chiral Crystals you collect will reduce your overall cargo weight by 1kg. This happens automatically, so there's no need to do anything extra on your part.
If you only need a few more Chiral Crystals to complete an upgrade, check out the area underneath the monorail north of West Fort Knot. The monorail is located above a tar swamp with a ton of Chiral Crystals for you to collect, and they tend to be the bigger crystal clumps instead of the small ones you can find during deliveries. Just watch out for Chiral Creatures in the area that will attack you if you get too close.
The tar will also rapidly drain your batteries, so try not to step in it for too long. Vehicles are particularly weak to tar since they slow down to a crawl and lose a bunch of energy in just a few seconds, so it's best to collect these Chiral Crystals on foot. You can repeatedly use this farming route while making deliveries in the area, so you can also level up your Death Stranding 2 facility connections in the process.
