In the expansive open-world sandbox game LEGO Fortnite, players encounter a variety of distinct biomes, each with its own thematic elements. The LEGO mode map in Fortnite is reportedly 20 times larger than the standard one. As such, navigating this vast landscape presents a considerable challenge.

It will take players dozens of hours if they choose to travel from one biome to another on foot. While players can sprint to move around faster, it's not really feasible as it consumes a lot of stamina. Unlike other open-world games, LEGO Fortnite does not have a special fast-travel mechanic. However, players can create different vehicles from scratch and use them to save time and energy when traveling between different biomes.

How to Fast Travel Using Vehicles

Thankfully, LEGO Fortnite allows players to build makeshift vehicles that drastically increase their speed. Things like a Glider, Car, and Hot Air Balloon make fast traveling possible in LEGO Fortnite.

Glider

A Glider is an early-game gadget that enables players to float effortlessly over long distances. While they may consume the player’s Stamina, Gliders are an effective way to fast travel in LEGO Fortnite, especially when one does not have access to other vehicles. However, players can only use it when they jump from high places.

Before they can make Gliders, players must have access to a Spinning Wheel, Loom, and Rare Crafting Bench. The materials required to craft a Glider are 4 Wool Fabric, 6 Silk Fabric, and 8 Flexwood Rods.

Pure Wool and Silk can be obtained by petting sheep and killing spiders respectively. They can be processed into Wool and Silk Threads using a spinning wheel. Finally, the threads can be converted into Wool and Silk Fabric using a loom. Flexwood can be harvested from the desert and turned into Flexwood Rods using a Lumber Mill.

Players will need a Rare Forest Axe to harvest Flexwood from cacti.

Car

Another option for traveling through LEGO Fortnite’s map is to use a Car. Makeshift cars are challenging to use, as players can’t maneuver them left or right. However, they’re perfect for quickly moving from one spot to another.

Players can follow the steps below to build a car in LEGO Fortnite.

  1. Open the build menu and craft a Dynamic Foundation using 4 pieces of Flexwood.
  2. Place either Small or Large Wheels on the corners of this platform. Players can unlock the crafting recipe for Wheels when they harvest Flexwood for the first time.
  3. Next, place 2 to 4 Large Thrusters on the vehicle to push the car in the desired direction.
  4. Place an Activation Switch to start the car.

Hot Air Balloon

The Hot Air Balloon is the best way to fast travel in LEGO Fortnite. It allows players to travel to distant lands easily. Similar to a car, players can only move forward in a Hot Air Balloon and can not maneuver left or right.

To build a Hot Air Balloon, players can follow the steps below.

  1. Open the build menu and craft a Dynamic Foundation
  2. Once the platform is placed on the ground, place two Large Thrusters on it.
  3. Next, add an Activation Switch
  4. Finally, place a Large Balloon in the center of the platform. As soon as the balloon starts rising, interact with the Activation Switch to start moving the Hot Air Balloon.
