There are countless secrets to find around The Continent in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and thoroughly exploring everything can lead to generous rewards for your party. It's not just the prominent landmarks that are worth discovering, but the hidden treasures deeper in the wilds, especially because they can be easily missed.
A prime example of such a hidden treasure in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is The Carousel. If you're not sure where to find it or how to complete the small sidequest available there, this guide can help with all that it entails.
How to Find The Carousel in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
The Carousel is a unique small location on the Continent in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that you can first find during Act 2 of the story, as you first need access to Monoco's Station to reach it. After you finish the initial story events at Monoco's Station (and gain another party member and their truly unique skills), you'll get access to the three routes in and out of the area that each lead in different directions to other landmark locations.
You'll want to take the east exit out of Monoco's Station to find The Carousel. Once you do, make your way across the icy fields towards the northeast and hug the cliffside on the left until you find what looks like a carousel partially buried in the snow. Approach it, and you'll see 'The Carousel' with a prompt to enter.
Note that you can also find the entrance to the Frozen Hearts location in this area, where the Eternal Ice key item is located. It's a relatively dangerous area, however, so come prepared and well-leveled before entering.
How to Fix The Carousel For Grandis in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
After entering The Carousel area, Rest at the Expedition Flag if you wish (and find the Le Grand Café de Lumière music record in the alley area to the left), then go over and speak to the Grandis standing to the left of a carousel that appears frozen over.
The Grandis will explain that they wish to see the carousel spin again just as it did before the Fracture happened, and leaves it to you to find a way to free the contraption from the ice.
There are a couple of ways you can go about fixing the Carousel, and one is notably less time-consuming than the other. One way is by acquiring the Paint Break ability by rescuing at least 4 of the 9 Lost Gestrals around The Continent and then speaking to Sastro back at Gestral Village. Paint Break can be used not only to destroy the blue paint spike formations scattered around random areas of The Continent but also to shatter the large ice formations on the carousel.
However, another much simpler way to fix the carousel is by using your Strike ability on the icicles (the same one you use to land First Strikes during enemy encounters). This is also proven to work, and once you destroy all the icicle formations on the carousel, it will start to spin and play music.
Return to the Grandis, and he'll remark about a young girl from long ago that he only remembers now by her hair. As a token of remembrance, he'll grant the French Bob Haircut (Maelle) as a reward. Feel free to further explore the area before you leave, and you can also find a Colour of Lumina item near the back.
