In Grow a Garden, players can snag plenty of different crop seeds, including veggies, fruits, flowers, and even candy-themed plants. Most of the time, you’ll get them from the Sam Seed Shop, by joining weekly events, or by visiting special event stalls.

However, that doesn't encompass all the methods of acquiring seeds in the game. You can also gather seeds without spending a thing or grinding event rewards. If you're wondering how to get free crops or seeds in Grow a Garden, this guide has you covered.

How to Get Free Seeds in Grow a Garden

Right now, you can only get free seeds in Grow a Garden by using pets with the Seed Digging or Duplicating ability. These critters can find or clone seeds while hanging out on your farm or even on your neighbor’s plot, but the chances are small, especially for unique crops like Mythical, Divine, and Prismatic plants, including Mushrooms and Beanstalks. That said, you can definitely improve their odds by aging them.

There are a handful of animals that can help with this, and luckily, some of them are pretty easy to get, so even beginners can start farming plantables early on while chilling around in the server. Here’s a list of all the pets that can grab you a free seed of any kind in GaG:

Players can hatch these animals from Common and Mythical Eggs, priced at 50,000 and 8,000,000 Sheckles, respectively, if they happen to be in stock at the Pet Eggs stall. If you’re lucky enough to get one of the seed pets, you can make them older and more experienced by feeding them crops until their hunger bar is full. They’ll even gain experience while you’re offline. You can also use a Moth to keep them full and growing.

This helps increase their chances of digging or copying seeds, and it can also lower their ability timer. You can further support pets like the Red Fox (which has the longest cooldown) by pairing them with Queen Bee, Wasp, or Tarantula Hawk; these creatures help other critters use their traits faster. Remember that all seed pets only give seeds that are normally available in the Seed Shop. They won’t get you event seeds like Sunflower, Candy Blossom, or Honeysuckle.
