Team Cherry is not shy when it comes to adding new mechanics into their game, which might surprise players as well as confuse them in certain situations. As players are exploring the vast world of Hollow Knight: Silksong, they will stumble across the Sinner's Road, which, although it looks like any other ordinary area, has a new mechanic involving the water in this area.
Players are able to get poisoned from the water, which is not ideal at all, and the guide below includes information on how to cure it in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

How to Get Rid of Poison in Silksong (Maggots and Bugs on Health Bar)
The poison water is a mechanic inside Sinner's Rise. To reach this location, you have to go left from the Halfway Home bench. Climb the tower up ahead and head right at the top, which will require the use of your wall jump ability. There is a lift you can activate, which goes down right at the entrance of Halfway Home, so be sure to send it down and make your way to the top right of this area. Keep walking, and you will reach the Sinner's Rise, where you will find alligator-like enemies that can grab you to deal two mask damage.
Keep going right, and once you see the prisoner on top of you, go up and through the passage on the right. It is here that you will first come across the water that is filled with Maggots. There are a few platforming sections in this area where you have a very high chance of dropping into this. Once you do, y ou will notice the sides of your screen are pulsating the green color, and the Silk bar next to your health bar is covered in Maggots.
Even though this does not deal any damage and might not look harmful at first, you will soon realise that the maggots are eating away at your Silk. Not only this, but even if you manage to gather enough Silk and use your bind to heal, you will not be able to heal. So, what is the cure to this status effect, you might ask? Well, the answer is quite simple. Use your Bind ability to heal. As mentioned before, you will not heal using Silk, but the maggots will burst away, curing you entirely. It is important to note that the longer you stay inside the maggot water, the more you will constantly lose Silk at an increased rate.
The
Wreath of Purity, which players can find inside Putrified Ducts, can repel the Muckmaggots but breaks after being exposed to them a lot. This can be restored by resting at any bench.
