Scorbunny became a popular choice for Pokemon Sword/Shield players mainly in part to its final evolution, Cinderace. Prior to Indigo Disk, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players had a chance of catching their own Cinderace through the 7-star Cinderace Tera Raid back in early-mid January 2023. Now, you can catch Scorbunny in Indigo Disk's Terarium, but only after you've contributed Blueberry Points (BP) to the Terarium Club at Blueberry Academy. Fortunately for those that don't have the Scarlet/Violet expansion pass, you can still obtain your own Scorbunny with the help of Pokemon HOME.
How to Get Sobble, Drizzile, and Inteleon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
The crying water lizard Pokemon, Sobble, can be caught in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet --here's how to get and evolve it.
Where to Find Scorbunny in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Polar Biome
You'll find Scorbunny running atop the slopes in the Polar Biome of Terarium, but only if you've sent 3000BP to the Terarium Club's Polar Biome. The best place to look for Scorbunny is the section of the Polar Biome that's near the wall separating the Polar Biome from the Canyon Biome. Unlike Torchic, who is also a Polar Biome-exclusive, Scorbunny won't spawn in the Polar Biome's caves.
To send BP, use the computer in the League Club at Blueberry Academy. If it's Scorbunny you're after, make sure that you're sending the 3000BP to the Polar Biome of the Terarium Club - not the other biomes.
BPs are gained from completing Blueberry Quests (BBQs), which are constantly restocked for you every time you complete one BBQ. Since BPs are given out in normally low-quantities, you'll want to keep completing them until you unlock the advanced BBQs. These are BBQs marked with a red background, and they'll start getting sent your way after you get a call from Director Cyrano.
How to Get Scorbunny without the Indigo Disk DLC
Should You Trade or Transfer?
If you're okay with getting a Scorbunny that has a different Trainer ID from you, then you can get one by transferring it from Pokemon Sword/Shield or by trading with someone who already has Scorbunny (or its evolutions).
Transferring Scorbunny
- Scorbunny is the Fire-type starter for Sword/Shield, and there's only one in the entire game if you don't breed it at the Pokemon Nursery.
- To transfer it, you'll need to download Pokemon HOME on the Switch.
- Once this is done, you need to place Scorbunny in your PC Box in Sword/Shield.
- Exit out of Sword/Shield, and go into Pokemon HOME.
- Move Scorbunny from your Sword/Shield PC Box to your Basic Box.
- While still in HOME, open Scarlet/Violet, and move Scorbunny from the Basic Box to one of SV's PC Boxes.
Trading Scorbunny
- Make sure you have a Nintendo Online Membership. You'll need this if you're trading for Scorbunny via wireless communication.
- To turn on wireless communications in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, tap the X-button to open the pause menu. Then, tap L-button to turn on communications.
- Once you're connected, go into Poke Portal. You will want to choose Union Circle, and you can either Form the group yourself, or you can Join a group by inputting a code that someone gave you.
- Once you're transported to your Union Circle, go back into the Poke Portal and choose Link Trade. You can Set Code, which both you and your trading partner will need to input the same Code in order for a connection to be established.
If you want Scorbunny with your Trainer ID, you'll need to breed the one you received via transfer or trade. The Scorbunny that hatches from an Egg will have your Trainer ID.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: How to Get Chikorita, Bayleef, and Meganium (Indigo Disk)
Getting Chikorita and its evolutions in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk entails expanding the Coastal Biome, but how can this be done?
How to Evolve Scorbunny and Raboot into Cinderace
What Level Does Scorbunny Evolve?
Scorbunny evolves into Raboot at level 16. To evolve Raboot into Cinderace, get it up to level 35. If you're raising a Scorbunny that hatched from an Egg, you can elevate its level quicker by feeding it Exp. Candies. If you're catching the wild Scorbunny in the Polar Biome, you'll find that their levels are much higher than level 16 or level 35. As with every other Pokemon beyond its "evolution level," you'll need to level up Scorbunny once to get Raboot, then once more to get Cinderace if you're evolving the ones you caught in Terarium.
