Snom is one of the cutest Generation 8 Pokemon, a small Ice/Bug-type larva species, with a predilection for cold weather and bright moonlight. Snom can reach a maximum CP of 597 CP, and has average stats (76 ATK, 59 DEF, 102 HP), and it is also one of the Pokemon with the highest evolution requirements. Snom evolves into Frosmoth using 400 Snom Candy, and it acquires a lot of stats and CP.

Snom was originally added with Pokemon Sword & Shield, and it's been long overdue to see this snow worm Pokemon in the mobile version of the game. Snom usually prefers snowy weather and areas where there's a lot of ice, though. For those trainers looking to add Snom to their collection, here's a full guide on how to get it and what its moves are.

How to Get Snom in Pokemon Go

Snom is a dual Ice/Bug-type Pokemon originating from the Galar region, and in Pokemon GO, players can get it by hatching 5km Eggs. It is also important to mention that Snom is the debuting Pokemon of the Cozy Companions event, and it will be spawning at a higher rate from 7km Eggs during this event. So, trainers aiming to get this Pokemon should take this chance to hatch lots of 7km Eggs while it lasts. After that, Snom will be added to the 5km egg pool, but its hatch rates will return to normal.

Snom can have Powder Snow or Struggle Bug as Fast Moves, and Bug Buzz or Icy Wind as Charged Moves. Its moveset is not so impressive, and when it evolves to Frosmoth it doesn't get any better, with the most notorious change being that Struggle Bug is replaced by Bug Bite (a slightly better Fast Move), and the addition of Ice Beam and Hurricane to the Charged Move pool.

Can Snom be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Pokemon GO Is shiny Snom Available

Snom is a debuting Pokemon, and as such, its Shiny version will not be available in Pokemon GO until a later yet to be confirmed date. Pokemon that are often added to the game take a long time before they are added as their shiny alt forms (with the exception of certain cases). After a while, the Pokemon becomes available on either a Community Day or a special event, and later can be found at normal rates even during Spotlight Hours.

In terms of PvE/PvP utility, Frosmoth is subpar, though it has its uses as a spammer (Icy Wind is considered both a spam and debuff move) and can bait opponents if used correctly. Sadly, its perfect IV spread cuts off its damaging power by half, and with a low damage output and ridiculously large requisites to evolve, it is not a good Pokemon to consider for either PvP or PvE. Since obtaining the 400 Candy to evolve Snom into Frosmoth can be considered a near-impossible task, players are better off having this little guy and its evolution (if they are lucky enough to hatch a lot of them) for their collection.
