A Couple of Things to Keep in Mind

You can make a wide receiver catch the ball with one hand by pressing and holding L1 on PS5 or LB on Xbox when the ball is traveling through the air to your wide receiver after being thrown by the Quarterback. Depending on the distance of the throw, you might have to be quick to press and hold it after making the throw with your Quarterback, as the ball can travel quickly.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind that will determine whether your player makes a one-handed catch. The first is that the ball needs to be away from their body. If your QB bullets a pass straight into their chest, then they'll catch it with two hands to complete the pass. I found the most success came from having the QB throw it to either side of the receiver and high in the air (performing a lob pass).

Even then, you're not guaranteed to perform a one-handed catch successfully. Catching the ball with one hand is generally riskier than using two, for obvious reasons. There's an increased chance of your receiver fumbling the catch or a defender successfully jostling with them and intercepting the pass when going for a one-handed catch. As such, if you are desperate to pull one off, make sure your receiver has a good amount of space around them and the pass is away from any incoming defenders to increase your chances of landing it.

The other thing to keep in mind is that a wide receiver's Spectacular Catch stat will play a part in determining how capable they are of successfully making a one-handed catch in Madden 26. A player like the Dallas Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb with a 98 Spectacular Catch rating is going to have a much easier time executing one than someone like the Texans' Tank Dell, with a Spectacular Catch of 84.

Having a fast wide receiver can also make it easier to get into open space on their runs.

The Spectacular Catch stat will be more important on the 'Simulation' game style as opposed to others, as this is where player ratings have the most impact on gameplay.
