Cross save has finally arrived in Vampire Survivors, allowing players to sync their progress and unlocks across multiple platforms. There are some unfortunate restrictions in place, however, and PlayStation users in particular will be disappointed by the current Vampire Survivors cross save implementation.

Cross progression has been teased for Vampire Survivors for quite some time, but now it has arrived alongside the free Emerald Diorama expansion that adds a bunch of content from Square Enix's SaGa RPG franchise. Cross save for Vampire Survivors is super simple to set up, and more supported platforms may be added in future updates, too.

Vampire Survivors Is Crossing Over With A Square Enix RPG

Vampire Survivors surprises fans by shadowdropping a crossover DLC that brings a Square Enix RPG series into the spotlight.

How to Set Up Cross Save in Vampire Survivors

To set up cross progression in Vampire Survivors and carry a save over to other platforms, players must first create a Poncle account. The cloud button in the top-left corner of the Vampire Survivors main menu will allow players to create an account and sync all of their data.

Vampire Survivors Poncle Account

Once your Poncle account is created, save data from Vampire Survivors can be transferred to other platforms by logging into that Poncle account, selecting "My Account" followed by "Manage Data" and then "Save Data," and then pressing the "Save" button to push a save file into the Vampire Survivors cloud save slot. This cloud save can then be loaded onto other platforms by repeating this process and choosing "Load Data" instead of "Save Data" in the account menu. Cloud saves don't sync automatically, so players have to manually upload and download their save files before moving to another platform.

Vampire Survivors Cross Save Data

DLC cross-buy for expansions like Ode to Castlevania isn't supported in Vampire Survivors, but transferring save data to a platform where players don't own any DLC still works. In that instance, players just won't have access to the DLC if they don't own it on their current platform. All DLC options will be locked until the save data is downloaded onto a system where players own the correct expansions. Achievements may also unlock automatically when Vampire Survivors save data is downloaded, but this depends on the active platform.

Currently, Vampire Survivors cross saves are supported on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Android, and iOS. Nintendo Switch compatibility is coming soon. Unfortunately, cross save is not available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at the moment because of a last-minute legal issue that the development team has encountered. The chances of cross save coming to PlayStation consoles are slim, but it could still potentially happen down the line. The same goes for the Apple Arcade version of Vampire Survivors, which does not currently support cross save.
