Sorcerer’s Rises are buildings with a tower icon on the map, and these can be randomly located across Limveld. As players make their way to these Mage Towers during expeditions, they will often find the entrance magically sealed, along with a message prompting them to find the crest. Unlike most objectives, these towers don’t follow a consistent unlocking method, which can be confusing during time-sensitive runs.

How To Unlock Sorcerer’s Rise (Mage Towers) in Elden Ring Nightreign

How To Unlock Sorcerer’s Rise in Elden Ring Nightreign 1

There are a few notable ways to unlock the Rises, and once you have tried them at least once, you will be able to remember them for future runs—saving valuable time to focus on leveling up or exploring other areas.

Do keep in mind that, although you can immediately head toward the Rise once you land in Limveld, it is best to route your expedition so that you pass through the Towers while on your way to gaining more Flask charges or clearing out a Fort.

The main key to unlocking the Mage Towers is locating a magical crest nearby. The crest is a glowing blue sigil that can be broken either by jumping onto it or by attacking it using your equipped armament.

The following are all the known methods of unlocking the Rises:

  1. First, check the top of the front door for the crest. Double-jump onto the door—there will be a spot where you can briefly stand—then jump again and attack the crest. If you have a bow in your inventory, you can also manually aim and shoot it from below.
  2. Look for an Imp Statue near the entrance of the Rise. These statues resemble the ones found outside Evergaols. Hitting the statue will reveal a hidden crest that you can then destroy to break the seal.
  3. If the crest is not visible at eye level, check the ground. Look closely at puddles of water to the left or right of the Rise—you may spot the crest briefly reflected on the surface. Simply strike the location to break it.
  4. Keep spamming your Lock-On button in case there is a targetable tree nearby. That’s right—there’s a chance a tree will suddenly run away. Chase and attack it to make the crest appear.
  5. There is a chance the crest is hidden on the outer walls, so start attacking each side—one of them should reveal the crest.
  6. In some cases, the main door of the towers will be open, but the door on the upper floor remains sealed. If so, search the ground floor carefully. In the far-right corner, there is usually a statue next to a blank wall—attack the wall to reveal the hidden crest.
  7. If the main door is open, look for a missing torch on the wall right above it. Climbing up will reveal the Crest.
  8. If you cannot find the seal anywhere else, head up to the second floor and look behind you to find the Crest.
  9. In some cases, you can also simply go through the sealed door, which then unlocks the contraption.

Once the seal has been broken, head inside the Rise and climb the stairs to the top. At the summit, you will find a reward chest that may contain a Talisman, a high-rarity Armament, a Seal, or a few other valuable items from which you can choose one.
