My Winter Car is the highly anticipated sequel to the cult-classic Finnish simulator My Summer Car. Like its prequel, My Winter Car features an in-game phone that helps you progress in quests, order parts, call NPCs like the firewood seller, and unlock different game events.

Unlike typical games where you click on on-screen numbers, this phone has a unique input system that isn’t clearly explained in the game itself. Many players find it confusing at first because pressing random keys only makes the phone beep with no effect. This guide breaks down how the phone works and how to use it to make calls in My Winter Car.

How the Phone Works in My Winter Car

How the Phone Works in My Winter Car

To use the phone correctly in My Winter Car, you must first activate it by interacting with it in the game. Simply clicking on the screen or tapping random buttons won’t do anything. Once activated, the phone will only accept input from the keyboard numpad. Pressing the wrong keys results in the phone beeping constantly.

When you’re entering a number, type the full number without long pauses so that the game doesn’t cancel the dialing process. Always write down phone numbers exactly as shown and dial without formatting.

Once dialed, wait patiently. You’ll hear the call connecting, and eventually the NPC will speak or hang up.

Hanging up before the NPC finishes can cancel the associated game event or stop the call from triggering the next step. Many NPC interactions, quests, and map updates only occur after successful calls.

Some NPCs only pick up the phone during the daytime in game, so if your calls don’t bring in results, time of day could be a factor.

Using the phone correctly in My Winter Car might feel awkward at first, but once you know how to use the keyboard numpad and complete calls without cutting them short, you’ll unlock many of the game’s deeper mechanics and interactions quickly and easily. Phone calls will let you trigger NPC interactions, reveal map pins, start jobs, and order car parts, making your winter survival run a lot smoother.

All Phone Numbers in My Winter Car

Phone numbers in My Winter Car

Currently, there are three useful phone numbers you can find and use in My Winter Car. Each one unlocks a different service or job, and all of them are tied to the PSK gas station area.

  • Reijo: 08 609 553. Calling this number lets you arrange a meeting with Reijo, where you can purchase the Corris Rivett van. This is one of the most important early-game vehicles.
  • Leaflet Distribution Job: 08 231 206. Once you call this number, leaflets will be delivered to your mailbox later in the week. You can then begin distributing them for money.
  • Taxi Driver Job: 08 712 112. This number does not appear on the first day. It gets posted later. When you call it, your trainer answers and tells you to meet him at the PSK station.
