Battlefield 6 has four classes to choose from, and all of these classes have different roles and playstyles. Players will choose the class that stands out to them, but first, they must find out what the gadgets and loadouts for these soldiers are. Even though players can choose an Assault Rifle or Shotgun on a Recon, it is best to stick with a Sniper Rifle to make the best use of the Training Path and the primary gadgets.
One of Recon's starting gadgets is the Laser Designator, which might confuse a lot of players if they have not used anything similar before. The guide offers everything players need to know about the gadget's use in Battlefield 6.

How to Use the Laser Designator Gadget in Battlefield 6
Using the Laser Designator Manually
The Laser Designator Gadget acts as Binoculars for the Recon players to use. Once you load into a match, press the left d-pad on your controller or the "3" key on a keyboard to equip the binoculars. Here you will find two options: either to zoom in or deploy the tripod onto the ground. If you decide to zoom in, you will be able to see everything through thermal vision, which can be turned off if you want, but it is better to keep it on, as it makes it easy to spot enemies and enemy vehicles.
You can adjust the Zoom up to three levels by pressing down the L3 button on the controller or the "F" key on the keyboard.
Once you get the hang of all of these things, then you can start by using the Paint option by holding R2/RT on your controller or Left-Mouse Click (LMB). This feature allows you to put down a marker, and if you decide to place it at a spot, everyone else will be able to see it as well. However, the main purpose of the Laser Designator is to paint the enemy vehicles, such as tanks or jets, and helicopters. This will put down a mark on them, making it easier for Air-Defense and Long-Range launchers to target these vehicles quickly and for a longer period.
Placing it down the Gadget as a Tripod
Besides the zoom-in feature, you can also deploy the tripod. You can then leave the tripod, and this makes it act autonomously. At any point, you can use the button to access it and start tracking things yourself. If you play through the Campaign before playing the Multiplayer, the game explains the use of this Gadget in the first mission, Always Faithful.
