Killing the Titan of Time is every player's main goal in Hades 2, but that's easier said than done. Chronos isn't going to go down without a fight, and if you think you aren't strong enough to put him down for good, then it might be time to get a few upgrade materials first.

Flux is one of the many types of reagents in Hades 2, and it is surprisingly elusive. It can only be found in a very specific place, and there's no telling if Flux is going to appear during a run at all. This guide covers where you can get this resource during your runs as well as some tips on how to get more.

Where to Find Flux in Hades 2

Hades 2 Chaos Portal

Unlike the majority of other valuable resources in the game, Flux can neither be obtained from the surface nor Erebus. Instead, Flux is found inside the Realm of Chaos. You can get there by finding Chaos portals on the ground. However, to enter those portals, you need to sacrifice a small bit of your health.

Hades 2 Flux Outcropping

Once you enter a Chaos portal, you'll then need to look around for outcroppings — Flux outcroppings look like big rocks with shiny crystals in the middle. Sadly, there's no way to guarantee that a Flux outcropping is present in the portals you enter, so you'll just have to keep entering them until you do get some. As always, you'll need to have unlocked the Crescent Pick before you can start mining any outcropping.

How to Get More Flux Per Run

Here are a couple of things you can do to increase the amount of Flux you get in each run:

  • Get a Discovery Boon from Chaos. Preferably, get Success Rate from Hermes as well.
  • Use Raki, one of the familiars in Hades 2, and upgrade him to increase your odds of finding Outcroppings.

Realms of Chaos are where you can get Boons from Chaos themselves. These Boons always come with some sort of curse that will hamper you in some way, but they'll dispel once you meet the right conditions laid in each Boon.

What to Do With Flux

Hades 2 Black Coat Aspect of Nyx locked

Flux is a reagent, and much like the rest, it's used to invoke Incantations and unlock/upgrade weapon aspects. Players will need 4 Flux and 1 Darkness to get the Aspect of Nyx for the Black Coat.

The Aspect of Nyx enables Omega Booster, which is an Omega attack for your Sprint. Hold your dodge/sprint button until the meter fills up, and you'll deal area damage to enemies after you hit them while moving. More importantly, your Attacks and Specials split in two for 5 seconds after your Omega Booster's activation. The extra hits aren't as strong as your normal ones, but more damage is always nice to have.
