Base building is one of the things players will be doing a lot in Dune: Awakening. All of your loot and survival-crafting essentials need to go somewhere, and if your base isn't up to snuff, you're going to have a bad time. Everyone starts with the same types of building pieces, but later on, you can unlock some more, including ones that are faction-specific.

The warring Atreides and Harkonnen factions in Dune: Awakening have plenty to offer to players who join their respective causes, and that includes themed building pieces in the style of each faction. Wearing your team's colors and gear is one thing, but if you truly want to represent either of these houses, nothing will scream team spirit more than building a base in their honor. Here's where you can get their unique building pieces.

Where to Get Atreides and Harkonnen Building Sets in Dune: Awakening

In order to unlock either of the faction-specific building sets, you'll first need to join a faction. You can do so by going to The Anvil trade post in Vermillius Gap and speaking to one of the two faction NPCs stationed there. Once you get acquainted with one of them, you'll need to do a series of quests.

These quests can take a while to complete, and you'll likely have to do a lot of traveling throughout Vermillius Gap and the neighboring regions. A Sandbike is more than enough to get you anywhere you need to go in Hagga Basin, but getting an Ornithopter will make your life much easier.

Once you complete either of the faction quests, the recruiter NPCs will sign you up as an official member of their faction. Then, their vendors will start selling things to you once you visit them in Arrakeen or Harko.

Atreides and Harko Stronghold Building Sets cost 80,000 Solaris each. You can only buy the set available to your faction from their respective vendors, and if you want to get both, you can purchase the opposite faction's building set at the Scrap Trader in Arrakeen or the Weapons Vendor in Harko.

Building Faction Bases

Pieces for both faction base building sets require Plastone, an advanced material that requires you to bring the following materials to an ore refinery:

  • 200 Basalt Stone (175 if using a Large Ore Refinery)
  • 1 Silicon Block
  • 50 Water

You can find a ton of Basalt stone in the Eastern Shield Wall region. Look for the black rocks that line the mountain passes and valleys. If you're using a Medium or Large Ore Refinery, you'll get 250 Plastone for each batch you refine. Luckily, each batch of Plastone only requires one Silicon Block to make, as getting Flour Sand can be a lengthy and dangerous process even in the late game.
