Hunter x Hunter chapter 405 is highly anticipated by fans, seeing as how Togashi has been building up a lot of hype around this current Succession Contest arc.
Hunter x Hunter 404: Halkenburg’s Death
Halkenburg has been a central character in this arc of HxH. His master plan includes his own death.
Hunter x Hunter’s Succession War among the Kakin will continue heating up as all the plot lines built until now start aligning, and groups such as the Mafia families and the Phantom Troupe start getting involved. Hisoka’s return is definitely a possibility as well.
Hisoka And The Phantom Troupe Back in the Main Focus
Hisoka Will be Located By a Troupe Member
2 years ago, during the 10-chapter batch that Togashi released, a big chunk of the focus was put on the Phantom Troupe members, with the author even revealing their backstory in Meteor City. An interesting turn of events came when the fans witnessed the return of Hisoka Morrow – a character that hadn’t been seen yet on the Black Whale. Ever since then, however, Hisoka has been out of the story, but this might change with HxH chapter 405.
As fans know from chapter 404, a few members of the Phantom Troupe were seen back into the picture. Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan were on their way to the Heil-Ly hideout, but decided to first have a talk with other mafia families.
In HxH Chapter 405, Nobunaga and his group might be seen questioning the other two mafia families, in other words, the Xi-Yu and the Cha-R families. Depending on what information he receives from them, he might have to call on the other Troupe members, making this a whole attack on Heil-Ly.

It’s also possible that now, after so long, a member of the Troupe will finally locate Hisoka. A Spider locating Hisoka could mean an eventual confrontation with him. It’s not impossible that Nobunaga’s group will be the ones to confront him if he is found, especially due to Chrollo’s bad state resulting from the deaths of Shalnark and Kortopi. If a fight were to erupt between Hisoka and Nobunaga’s group, it’s hard to say who would really win.
Hisoka is definitely stronger than ever, and could possibly take on three powerful Spiders on his own, possibly meaning new deaths among the Phantom Troupe, which will only make the other members angrier and more determined to take him down. Chaos will erupt on the Black Whale.
Morena and The Heil-Ly Family
The Heil-Ly Family Will Be Planning Something
Morena is currently one of the most dangerous individuals on the Black Whale, having an extremely problematic Nen ability. As fans know from before, Morena’s underlings have to level up by killing people. When fans see Morena and her underlings again, they will have definitely grown in power even further, especially Dogman, her right-hand man. If Dogman levels up more, he could start infecting people too.
Besides that, Morena and her mafia family will definitely be up to something on the Black Whale. With the return of the Spiders in HxH 404, it’s very likely she will be seen soon enough, potentially in HxH 405. Specifically, the Heil-Ly might be taking advantage of the bodily death of Halkenburg to create chaos. This chaos, if not stopped, could very well lead Prince Benjamin to make use of Martial Law. If Benjamin resorts to this, the results could be quite awful for the other Princes, as he will take over by military power.
The Heil-Ly could also be using the death of Halkenburg to try and assassinate someone, although who that might be is not clear. But, it could be a member of the other mafia families, or a member of the Phantom Troupe. The Heil-Ly are a very dangerous group that shouldn’t be underestimated, and their involvement will be a huge catalyst in the succession war.
The Assassination of Prince Luzurus
Prince Luzurus Might be the Next Victim
In HxH Chapter 403, Melody, as well as Beast Kacho and Kaiser were planning the assassination of the Seventh Prince Luzurus. All of that was in hopes of saving Fugetsu from an awful fate. Fugetsu is under the effect of some kind of drug, and her state has only been declining, needing some immediate actions from her allies to ensure her survival.
In HxH chapter 404, it was decided that they would soon carry out this assassination attempt. This means that HxH 405 could be the start of the assassination of Luzurus. To achieve just that, they will have to transport him using Fugetsu’s ability to the area where there will be a lifeboat. Once there, they will put him on a lifeboat and have him float out. Leaving the area of the Succession War is strictly forbidden, and disobeying this will result in the person’s death, something they discovered would happen as Kacho suffered the same fate.
Hunter x Hunter: The Next Prince To Die In The Succession War, Explained
With the succession war heating up, the death of one of the Kakin princes is almost inevitable in HxH.
The success rate of this mission seems high, with the group having prepared their plan of action well. However, the death of Luzurus could end up being a very bad move, as he is a benefactor to a mafia family, the Cha-R family to be specific. If a mafia benefactor dies, this could be used as an excuse for Prince Benjamin to use Martial Law. This will allow the military to take over, making Benjamin a powerful authority that could arrest and potentially execute his siblings. The plan to assassinate Luzurus could sour very fast.
Halkenburg in Action
Benjamin’s Fall Could Be Soon Coming
The highlight of HxH Chapter 404 was undoubtedly Halkenburg. After taking over Might’s body, his original body died, leaving him with 10 hours to act. Halkenburg will definitely play a huge role in the upcoming HxH chapters. Halkenburg’s main target will be Benjamin, as he accompanies his deceased body onto tier 1 of the Black Whale.

Halkenburg, if he can get to Benjamin, could potentially end the life of the First Prince. As fans have seen, he is not a character to underestimate. His Nen ability is very overpowered, although the extent of what he can do with it is still up to question. If his ability allows him to, he could perhaps take over the body of Benjamin. This would give Halkenburg full military power and make him the most dangerous Prince on the Black Whale. The only real threat to Halkenburg right now is Benjamin’s Nen Beast, whose ability is still unknown to the fans, and definitely for a reason. This Nen beast could be the reason Halkenburg fails and dies.
