In a new post on X (formerly Twitter), Yoshihiro Togashi confirmed that he has finished working on the manuscript for Hunter x Hunter Chapter 411. The update is positive, as it shows the author has been working on the manga. However, it would be remiss not to mention that Togashi has not shared an update on when the manga is going to resume. It's likely that Shueisha doesn't want to push Togashi either. Otherwise, the company has a reputation of overworking manga authors.

So, the question is when can fans expect Hunter x Hunter to return? Considering the last chapter came out in December 2024, one would assume that Chapter 411 would release in the coming weeks. However, neither Togashi nor Shueisha has hinted at the chapter being released soon. Therefore, fans should not get their expectations high.

Hunter x Hunter Anime Might Return In The Future

Hunter x Hunter has received two anime adaptations, with the first premiering in 1999. It was produced by Nippon Animation, and it ran for 62 episodes. The series was well received by viewers, but its quality pales in comparison to the 2011 adaptation. The second anime adaptation was produced by Madhouse, and it is currently the ninth-highest-rated anime on MyAnimeList. It has a rating of 9.03, with over 3 million votes, which shows that anime is extremely popular.

The 2011 adaptation has 148 episodes, which covered almost 340 chapters. Since then, the manga has released 70 more chapters, so it's entirely possible to release another season. But the studio might not go ahead with the decision, as it would bring the anime extremely close to the manga, which is problematic.

Hence, it is unlikely that the anime will return in the next couple of years. At the same time, it is undeniable that the Hunter x Hunter anime will make a comeback at some point in the future.
