Publisher Arc System Works has announced that Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact has been delayed. Hunter X Hunter is a manga series that was written by Yoshihiro Togashi. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 1998 and received an anime in October 1999. Hunter X Hunter follows a boy named Gon, who aims to become a Hunter, a licensed professional who goes on adventures around the world.

It has been announced that Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact will no longer drop in 2024 and will instead be released sometime in 2025. According to the title's publisher, Arc System Works, the delay was due to the team's decision to implement rollback netcode to the game at release. The development studio wanted players to be able to enjoy Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact without running into issues with their online matches. The announcement to delay the game comes after the reveal that the Hunter X Hunter manga will soon be leaving its hiatus.

Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact was announced earlier this year. The game will be a 3v3 2D fighter that sees many figures from the manga and anime duke it out. The full roster for Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact was revealed at EVO 2024, where it was announced that the title will feature 16 characters at launch. While this may seem small for a team-based fighting game, there is a really good chance that Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact will receive DLC to help pad out its roster after release.

Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact is not the only fighting game that fans are looking forward to at the moment. Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO! Will drop later this month, giving fans of the franchise a chance to brawl using popular characters such as Goku and Vegeta. Bleach: Rebirth of Souls will release in early 2025, providing anime fans with another brawler to sink their teeth into. Gamers can also set their eyes on 2XKO, another team fighter that pulls characters from League of Legends. Games such as Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 8, and Street Fighter 6 all have DLC fighters that will release next year, helping make 2025 a good time to be a fan of the genre.
