These days, it’s become more and more difficult for a PC case to stand out from the pack. Manufacturers have settled on a few classic designs that most consumers are happy with, providing a mix of form and function. HYTE’s Y70 Touch Infinite, however, feels like something special. It’s a stylish case that makes a strong statement with its unique profile, but also helps deliver impressive thermal performance if you pack it with fans.

The HYTE Y70 case itself is all about displaying your various PC components. It’s the type of case that benefits the most from as much RGB as possible. Whether it’s your AIO, case fans, RAM, or even light strips, the Y70 case makes those elements shine. The case’s tri-sided glass panel is functional in that it gives you plenty of space to work with, but it also puts everything on full display. Think of it like an exhibit at a zoo, where your PC’s inner workings are the exotic animals. You’ve put a lot of money into your rig, and HYTE’s case allows you to be a bit of a show-off.

But we’re not here to talk about the Hyte 70, which is an excellent case in its own right. The Y70 Touch Infinite takes things to the next level by taking one of those angular glass panels of the base model and swapping it with a touchscreen. What was already a stunning case becomes a genuine conversation piece with the ability to customize the display to surface useful information or add some personal touches.

HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite Offers Some Interesting Customization Options For The Touchscreen

There’s no question that the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite stands out from the crowd, but that’s only one part of the equation. Being able to pack the case with fans and keep high-end components cool is just as crucial, potentially even more so.

By connecting to your GPU via DisplayPort cable, the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite screen functions like a secondary monitor. When you first connect it, you will even see an extension of your desktop, but firing up the HYTE Nexus software unlocks screen customization. Nexus gives you full control over the display, and there’s a fair amount of things you can do with the screen, like personalize your PC with a unique image or some pre-loaded videos.

For me, being able to arrange various widgets is what makes the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite’s 10-point multi-touch screen so useful. The personalization is nice, but being able to see CPU/GPU temps at a glance or even the weather outside is far more useful. HYTE is continually adding new widgets to the Nexus software as well. If you’re a streamer, for example, you can set up the screen to show Twitch chat.

The 2.5K and 60Hz screen on the case is vibrant and clear, making sure that your personalization is easy to see/read. Depending on your case placement, the fact that it’s a touchscreen is an added benefit, allowing you to move around widgets as you would a mobile phone. You can also control music like any other touchscreen. A screen on a case is a gimmick, but HYTE has ensured that the Y70 Touch Infinite’s display is high quality and works well. Plenty will feel the screen is unnecessary, but I found its utility added function, and the personalization elements gave the PC a touch of style.

HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite Specs

14.9” 682 x 2560 (2.5K) 60Hz Touchscreen

4 Slot Vertical Graphics

7 Half-Height PCiE Slots

Ceiling and Side Radiator Mounts (up to 360mm)

Floor Cooling Fan Support (3x120mm or 2x140mm)

While the main draw of the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite is that touchscreen - it’s in the name, after all - the case is still one of the best out there. It’s unbelievably spacious, so those who love to pack as many fans as possible (this one can support up to 10) for cooling will see that as a huge boon. On our RDY-1 rig from iBUYPOWER, the case highlights the RGB elements on the fans and AIO, and its vertical GPU mount lets you show off that shiny new 50-series graphics card.

HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite Offers Breathtaking Design Without Compromising On Space

Although The Best War Games's testing rig was pre-built by iBUYPOWER, the build support in the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite is a major plus. The case features plenty of channels for securing/routing cables, toolless panels to easily get to the backside of your motherboard (or remove the glass), a dual chamber interior so you can manage the connections on the backside of your MOBO, an L-shaped grommet that makes it easy to feed cables into the back of the case, and floating sleds for your storage drives. It starts with the space afforded by the case, but HYTE has built a lot of smart considerations into the case that allow users to cable manage for a clean look.

That space makes building in the case easy, but it also offers plenty of room to pack a surprising amount of fans. Cooling is never an issue with so much space, and aesthetically, the HYTE Y70 lets the glow of your RGB components truly shine within the case. It feels like the same vibe you get from adding RGB to a room, with colors reflecting off surfaces as they pulse or cycle.

In addition to the copious ports offered by your motherboard, the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite includes 3 USB ports on its front for accessory dongles, charging, or any connectivity/power needs. The case includes two USB Type-A 3.2 ports and one USB-C 3.2 ports flanked alongside the power button. I will say that the power button on the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite is a bit squishy compared to the more rigid buttons you would see on other cases, but I never had any issue with the button recognizing my intent to power the PC on.

hyte y70 touch infinite - screen options

Perhaps the biggest criticism that can be raised against the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite has to do with its biggest selling point: the screen. Because it acts like a secondary monitor, there can be some finicky moments where the screen doesn’t work as intended. Usually, a quick restart or digging into the Nexus software will fix any issue, but anyone who has ever used a multi-monitor setup knows how sometimes one screen just won’t work the way it did a day ago, without you having done anything different.

The same is true for the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite’s touch screen. Sometimes it will lose its display properties and look like an extension of your desktop, which can be confusing when your mouse runs off your main monitor and onto the screen on your case. As someone who regularly gains access to early graphics drivers, I found that a lot of the weirdness stemmed from updating drivers, but it was never a major issue that couldn’t be quickly fixed. Still, it can be frustrating to have your chosen background and widgets not appear correctly.

Outside of that, though, the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite is one of the best cases we’ve ever tested. It’s got a unique profile to help it stand out from the crowd, and its spacious interior allows for exemplary cooling of your most powerful components. Of course, the touch screen is what truly sets the case apart, and having a secondary screen that surfaces crucial information about your PC or adds a bit of style is an added bonus. Put simply: this is an excellent case no matter your needs. If you’re already investing a good chunk of change in your GPU, CPU, and more, the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite serves as a worthy chassis for top-tier components.

The HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite is available on HYTE's website for $399.99. The Best War Games tested the Y70 Touch Infinite as part of its iBUYPOWER RDY Y70 TI B03 build. The HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite is a premium PC case that comes with subtle upgrades versus the Y60 case which it replaces while throwing in an impressive 2.5k touchscreen with a 60Hz refresh rate and 10 point multi-touch in tow.

It supports quad slot GPUs, a dual 360mm radiator configuration, and conceals cabling particularly well thanks to its dual chamber design.
