Aside from heightening his physical abilities, the mask also gave DIO the power to regenerate from any injury almost instantly. The vampire was only susceptible to two things: Hamon and sunlight. With the help of his new powers, DIO managed to survive being beheaded. After his loss to Jonathan, he returned almost a century later to haunt the Joestar bloodline again.

Imu is the ruler of the World Government, most likely one of the final villains that Luffy will face in the story.
