However, in this modern age of acceptance, where people feel more comfortable about their preferences, the "standard" romance choices may not be enough to accommodate audiences. After all, gaming fandoms are made up of various individuals, each with their own unique preferences. It only makes sense to offer that same kind of inclusivity in a role-playing game. By further personalizing the experience, these players will be more immersed in the adventure. Thankfully, several titles allow gamers to do just that.

Although there are many LGBTQ video games in modern years, there have also been some classic titles that have included a variety of sexualities for their characters. It has become even more important to present characters like Taash in Dragon Age: The Veilguard who is non-binary, as well as unique romance options in games to better represent the world players live in while also creating a welcoming environment for them. Over the years, Warframe has obtained countless updates with new content for players to enjoy. Recently, this has been taken a step further with Warframe: 1999, which has added romance to the game that any player can pursue.

Since the gender of the player's character isn't actually revealed – with them being somewhat genderless – players can decide their own gender for their character as they befriend and eventually romance the various new characters from the group known as The Hex, which were introduced in Warframe: 1999. While it may not be as hands-on as other romances in games, this is still a great inclusive option.
