Over the course of about 16 hours, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes players from the heart of the Vatican, to the Great Pyramids of Gizeh, to the bombed-out streets of Shanghai, and a handful of other thrilling locations. And by the end of their journey, players will have far more than Indy's trusty whip in their arsenal. But Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's DLC isn't only admitting those who have already rolled credits.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's The Order of Giants DLC can be accessed after just a few hours of play, with it appearing as a side mission when players begin to explore the Vatican. As such, those who have never played The Great Circle before can technically jump into the DLC almost straight away. But they might want to stave off the temptation of starting the DLC for just a few hours longer.
New Players Shouldn't Dive Straight Into Indiana Jones: The Order of Giants
Indiana Jones: The Order of Giants Has Some Challenging Sequences
While most of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's Order of Giants DLC revolves around raiding tombs and completing environmental puzzles, there are a bevy of fist fights that players can get into during its 3–4 hour duration. One or two of these combat encounters that occur towards the end of the DLC can actually be quite challenging, especially for those who might not be used to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's rather distinct melee system.
Without spoiling anything, these combat encounters can see multiple enemies attacking the player at once, and if new players are jumping into the DLC straight away, they might not have the health or stamina to face these opponents properly. Players can technically avoid some of these fights by using stealth, but that might present its own challenges if new players haven't picked up any upgrades at all.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's DLC features dynamic difficulty scaling, where those who have progressed further in the game are given a more challenging combat experience.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's Vatican Is Filled With Must-Have Upgrades
Having just a few upgrades before starting Indiana Jones: The Order of Giants would go a long way in making the DLC's combat and stealth sections feel much smoother to play through. And thankfully, there are some great upgrades right on the DLC's doorstep.
Being the first fully explorable area in the game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's Vatican is home to an assortment of genuinely useful abilities and upgrades. Here are some that players need to have before they dive into the DLC:
- Finding Medicine Bottles scattered around the Vatican will increase Indy's health bar
- The Hardboiled I and Sawbones I upgrade books found in the Vatican underground boxing ring will merge Indy's health bars and increase Bandage capacity
- Brawler II can be found in the Vatican's Belvedere Courtyard and will increase Indy's melee damage output
- The Throttle upgrade can be obtained by completing the 'A Nun in Trouble' Field Work, allowing Indy to instantly knock out light and medium-weight enemies with his whip while in stealth
- Street Scrapper I can be found in the Vatican Post Office, increasing Indy's melee weapon damage output
- Lucky Hat I can be found in the Captain's Room in the Vatican, giving Indy a chance to revive himself after being knocked out
At the very maximum, it should only take players a few hours to get all of these upgrades, and while Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's DLC can certainly be completed without them, things would go a lot smoother with them on the player's side.
