Summary

  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be available on PS5 in spring 2025.
  • It will first release for PC and Xbox on December 9, 2024.

It's now been officially confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be coming to PlayStation 5 as well as PC and Xbox, despite the fact that it's being made by Xbox-owned companies. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the next game from MachineGames, the studio most famous for the Wolfenstein games. A primarily first-person action-adventure game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is shaping up to be one of the bigger day one Game Pass games of the year.

MachineGames and Bethesda are both owned by Microsoft, and so it's no surprise that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was initially revealed as an Xbox console exclusive game. It's also long been announced that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Now we know PlayStation gamers will be able to play the game as well, though they won't be doing so at launch.

One of the last announcements at Gamescom 2024 was the reveal that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is going multi-plat, as has long been rumored. However, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will still be a timed-exclusive for Xbox on consoles. It will launch for PC and Xbox Series X on December 9, 2024, while those on PS5 have to wait until spring 2025 to get their hands on the game.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Release Date

  • PC and Xbox Series X: December 9, 2024
  • PS5: Spring 2025

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is far from the first Xbox-owned game to make the jump to PS5. Earlier this year, Xbox began exploring a new multi-platform strategy, bringing some older games and live-service titles to competing platforms. This included popular Xbox titles like Sea of Thieves and Grounded, but excluded heavy hitters like Halo, Forza, Gears of War, and Starfield. There are rumors that Xbox's biggest IP will be making its way to PlayStation at some point down the line, but nothing has been announced. For now, the only Xbox-owned game confirmed to be a multi-plat release is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Besides confirming the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle release date and the fact that it is also coming to PS5, Bethesda also used Gamescom to show off fresh footage of the game. The footage showcased Troy Baker as Indiana Jones and showed off the game's first-person combat and exploration mechanics. What's been shown of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle so far has looked very impressive, and it will be exciting to see if it lives up to the hype when it launches later this year.
