At the most recent Xbox Games Showcase, it was revealed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be getting its very first DLC. Titled The Order of Giants, this upcoming expansion teases a brand-new mystery complete with a secret cult, complex puzzles, and ancient ruins all hidden below the city of Rome. A fresh chapter is exciting enough, but it also makes a strong case for MachineGames to continue bringing expansions to the action-adventure title for years to come.

The Indiana Jones series boasts a specific tone, and pinning it down was one of the biggest challenges MachineGames had during the game's development. Thankfully, developers nailed the spirit of the Indiana Jones franchise, making the game one of the best adaptations of the series in recent years. Now that an expansion is on the table, it could pave the way for even more DLCs, or even a full-blown sequel.

The Order of Giants will feature the ruins of the Colosseum.

More Indiana Jones Games Could Form a Brand-New Trilogy

Microsoft has already teased a potential Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sequel. Microsoft CEO Phil Spencer recently talked with Variety about how happy the company was with the performance of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, stating that there is "life left in that franchise." This is far from official confirmation, but with the game's success, Microsoft greenlighting a second chapter definitely isn't too far outside the realm of possibility.

Not only would it be great to get extra Indy content, but it would also be completely on-brand. Whether it be another DLC or an entire sequel, Indiana Jones has a reputation for being one of the biggest movie franchises in film history. It would be really fun to see that same type of franchise-building be repeated via video games. Also, since MachineGames recently canceled an unannounced project, it's possible that the developer could be clearing its schedule in order to make room for another Indiana Jones chapter. This is purely speculation, but it wouldn't be surprising.

The Order of Giants is also introducing a brand-new character. Father Ricci is a young priest who recruits Indy to help him find a mysterious artifact.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's DLC is Right Around the Corner

The Order of Giants will be available on September 4, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

For those craving more Indiana Jones content, The Order of Giants is only a few short months away. Once The Order of Giants arrives, it will be interesting to see if MachineGames makes any further announcements later in the year. Of course, it will likely be a while before a full-blown sequel ever sees the light of day, but even confirmation that MachineGames is in the early stages of developing a second game would be exciting news.

Only time will tell, but right now, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle getting an expansion with The Order of Giants is an exciting promise that more stories could potentially be down the road. After MachineGames was able to nail the feeling of the Indiana Jones films, it will be exciting to see what compelling mysteries The Order of Giants has in store for players.
