The worlds of video games and television continue to merge as more adaptations get announced. While most look towards HBO's The Last of Us television series, a much more lighthearted game franchise is also coming to the tube.
Deadline reports that the next video game project to get the television treatment will be Indivisible. The project is currently in development at NBC Universal as part of its Peacock streaming service. DJ2 Entertainment is also involved with the production and has a history with video game adaptations like this year's Sonic the Hedgehog film.
What is more interested than just the announcement of the show is the talent behind the Indivisible TV project. Meg LeFauve and Jonathan Fernandez are noted as the duo adapting the video game world into a series. LeFauve is an Oscar-nominated writer who worked on Captain Marvel and Pixar's Inside Out, the latter of which scored her the nomination. Fernandez is a writer best known for his work on Star Trek Enterprise and Rob The Mob.
Indivisible released last year following a successful crowdfunding campaign. The Action RPG has gained a significant fan following and was praised as one of the best indie games of 2019. Details are few of the TV adaptation including whether or not it will be live action or animated.
While the news of Indivisible's jump to television is exciting, it comes at a distressing time for its developer Lab Zero. In June, accusations were made against Indivisible and Skull Girls lead designer Mike Zaimont. Zaimont, better known as Mike Z, was accused of sexual harassment by two separate parties. This follows up from Zaimont's inappropriate joke on a stream referencing George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Indivisible is available now on PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
