Inscryption part 1 is a deck-building, escape-room-style game with horror elements. This creepy game contains several cards that can talk, giving advice to the player on how to escape. While the first two are fairly easy to find, the third will take quite a few steps to get a hold of.
The Stunted Wolf Card
The three talking cards are the Stoat, which players start with, the Stinkbug which is found in the safe in Inscyrption's Part 1, and the Stunted Wolf. The Stunted Wolf card is a one-blood 2/2, which makes him a fine addition to any deck, but he is also needed to escape the cabin and start Act 2.
The Stunted Wolf card is hidden in the bottom part of the cuckoo clock in Inscryption, but getting him out of there is not simple. Players will have to complete several steps in order to get the item need to break him free.
How to Release the Stunted Wolf in Inscryption
Every puzzle that moves the game forward inside of Leshy's cabin in Part 1 must be done in a particular order. The order of these puzzles are:
- Open the safe in Leshy's cabin with 273.
- Take out the Stinkbug and the Key
- Use the Key to open the locked box that sits to the right of Leshy.
- Solve the sliding puzzles 1 and 2 to unlock sliding puzzles 3 and 4.
- Solve puzzle 3 and get the Caged Wolf Card.
- Break the Caged Wolf Card out of its prison by having it take six damage during a battle.
- Grab the Wolf Statue, which will now be broken out of the cage.
- Place the Wolf Statue next to the Squirrel Statue that holds a knife.
- Take the knife; it will be added to the player's items.
Once all of these steps are complete, players will need to use the knife in combat while staying alive; they will need one of the best decks in Inscryption Part 1 to get this far. This will remove the player's eyeball and place it on the scale. After that, Leshy will offer players a replacement eyeball from a box of eyes he keeps laying around. If players have had at least two deaths, there will be a glowing eyeball available. Take that eyeball, and see the hidden messages around the cabin.
How to Use the Special Eyeball
The first hidden message will be on the box itself. The message will tell the player to look at the clock.
With the eyeball, players will now be able to see the markings left by the Stunted Wolf. Line up the hands with the markings, and the bottom part of the clock will open. This cannot be done without the help of the eyeball, even if players know the solution ahead of time. This will give players the Film and the Stunted Wolf card. After that, players will be one step closer to part 2 of this horror indie game.
