Naughty Dog has confirmed that a well-regarded Better Call Saul actor will be part of the cast of the studio's next game: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The inclusion of this actor in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet isn't exactly a brand-new development, but it's the first time Naughty Dog has acknowledged it, alongside shedding some light on the casting decision.
MILD SPOILERS for The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 6 ahead Revealed at The Game Awards 2024 last December, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is an upcoming original franchise from Naughty Dog that veers quite far from the studio's prior work. The impressive in-engine announcement trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet showed off an all-new sci-fi setting in an alternate timeline where space travel made huge leaps in the 1980s, replete with numerous real-world references. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet's trailer also featured bounty-hunting protagonist Jordan A. Mun - played by Tati Gabrielle - and teased a few other popular actors as part of the game's cast list.
'Ignore It' Neil Druckmann Gave Intergalactic Lead Advice on Dealing With Online Negativity
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet director Neil Druckmann is "boot-camping" the game's lead actress to handle vitriol and hate online.
Among these actors was Tony Dalton, best known for his roles as Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul and Jack Duquesne in Hawkeye. Dalton recently appeared in Episode 6 of The Last of Us Season 2, portraying Joel's father - Javier Miller - in a series of emotionally weighted flashbacks. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann revealed that he was moved by Dalton's performance and didn't hesitate to extend an invitation to join Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. "He immediately came to mind, and I just offered it to him on the spot," said Druckmann in reference to Dalton's role in the game.
Every Known Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Cast Member So Far
- Halley Gross (AJ)
- Kumail Nanjiani (Colin Graves)
- Stephen A. Chang (role unconfirmed)
- Tati Gabrielle (Jordan A. Mun)

Dalton joins Tati Gabrielle, Halley Gross, Stephen A. Chang, and Troy Baker as officially confirmed cast members for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Aside from them, Kumail Nanjiani will also be part of the game as a character named Colin Graves, but a formal announcement about this has yet to come from him or Naughty Dog. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet's trailer hinted at the characters of Dalton, Chang, Nanjiani, and Gabrielle being members of a group dubbed the "Five Aces." However, something clearly goes wrong between them as Jordan is shown to be pursuing Colin as a bounty at the end of the trailer.
The reasons behind the Five Aces' fallout, Jordan's motives to hunt Colin, and Dalton's role in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet expectedly remain under wraps for now, but Naughty Dog fans are quite excited about the high-caliber talent in the game. It remains to be seen when Naughty Dog plans to release more information about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, with gameplay footage being one of the most popular requests. Thankfully, Druckmann has stated that the game is already playable at Naughty Dog, but reputable insider Jason Schreier delivered a less encouraging update a few months ago, claiming that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet won't launch before 2027.
